I cannot stand Foxwoods. Each time I've been, I've been personally aggrieved by either a group of drunk Massholes or a pitboss running a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse--to the point I swore I'd never go back again. I've never been closer to a capital crime than when I was playing at Foxwoods lol.

That being said, their older THC chips are absolute fire flames. I'm comfortable putting it firmly in the gold medal spot for my personal "worst casino, best chip" category. Anybody have a similar casino?

I live less than an hour away from foxwoods and I totally agree with your assessment.

I'm not a huge fan of the Foxwoods house molds, but inject the THCs directly into my veins. Beautiful $25s!
Is it possible for a riverboat to be a "good" casino? I've never associated them with big time gambling, but could be wrong.

EDIT: meaning, I kind of expect players on riverboats to be way more likely to split 10s than a regular casino lol idk why

Don't know about you, but for me Mohegan Sun is far and away the better place to play although the chips aren't nearly as nice. Don't know if you're an hour towards NE or an hour towards NYC, but I hear Encore is also a phenomenal spot albeit pricey.

The Foxwoods household $1s feel the closest to leaded TRKs. They feel and sound completely different than other paulsons. They have a solid clack clack sound instead of the click click sound of unleaded paulsons. They felt super chalky and not plasticky. Some of the best feeling chips. I regret selling them.

What makes Dunkin better in Boston? Must be the water. What makes Massholes more likely to split 10s in last position? Must be the water... lol

Yea, unfortunately I haven't spent too much time at Foxwoods lately... since I kinda swore I wouldn't go back lol... but I definitely believe that they feel great to shuffle. I just know seeing them on ChipGuide didn't do enough to overcome the bad blackjack players and worse pitbosses and make me go back  :ROFLMAO: Was that set live when you had it? With the exception of the $25s, they all look like they could've been...If so holy shit that's insane

Yes all but the 25s were live. They were harvested early so they were near mint. I believe they’re in Germany now

Mohegan's poker room was MUCH nicer than Foxwoods', but but much smaller. They both got remodeled shortly before Covid, so I'm not sure - haven't been to either this calendar year. But yeah, Encore is the shit. All three casinos have reopened. None of the poker rooms have.

And to answer the question, the greatest rack of all time - Grand Casino Gulfport, belonged to a casino that I've heard was pretty crappy.

Totally agree, Mohegan is just a nicer all around place than foxwoods, but the poke room was always small and was even shut down for a while if my memory serves me right.

My dad and I both had and got over COVID so we went up for father's day while we were still immune. I managed to sneak some pics of the poker room, as far as I can tell they knocked out a couple walls and expanded it. Added a few tables too.

One of my good buddies played there a bunch pre-COVID, he said it's his favorite by far.

Plus, Mohegan has a Krispy Kreme which immediately puts it in the running for best casino in the tri-state

Ya Mohegan really does dookie all over Foxwoods lol

You really can't beat going from either a blackjack pit or the poker room -> Frank Pepe's -> Krispy Kreme. It's a trifecta of everything I love and hold dear lol

. . . Is it possible for a riverboat to be a "good" casino? I've never associated them with big time gambling, but could be wrong.

Being from St Louis and logging probably (actually, undoubtedly) the most hours on the Admiral. PCA reply here is very underrated. That place was a stinky mess. The poker room was originally and for several years upstairs all by itself. It was great there, so quiet with its own cage (about the size of a phone booth) and a cool view. The poker room moved up and down levels over and over, one point was even in the smack middle of the gaming room floor surrounded by those cheesy velvet ropes with slots literally 2 feet away. The poker room finally rested in the dreary basement, all alone. Ugh. that walk down to the Mississippi river was not glorious.

When I saw this thread title I knew instantly the winner (err loser?).
