Goodbye Taj (2 Viewers)

Yeah I would be much more bummed if they had made ANY effort at all with the poker room reopening.

But trump is an awesome business man?!
I always LOL when he says in his interviews and debates he's going to bring in the best people to handle his foreign affairs, military ideas, ways to improve the economy...etc.

Why didnt he bring in the BEST guys to help him create nothing but successful businesses.

Found these today.

To the shredder...

Got to say if you played at the Taj about 05-08, there was lots of easy $ in that card room. Can't say much bad about those days.

Tommy, don't shred them...put them on eBay along with hundreds of other players cards that are offered (not sold) at 99 cents each which, I guess after packing and shipping, will result in a loss of only a few dollars (I never understood players card collectors, but then they probably don't understand chip guys)

Donald Trump hasn't been involved with the Trump Taj for 7 years.

It's time for this place to close, but damn does it make me sad.

I think I read that somewhere too. They kept the name but he hasn't owned it or been involved with it for a long time.

He sold it and retained 10% ownership in return for the use of his name, but when they filed bankruptcy in 2014 he lost that. He hasn't had a say in the day to day since 2009.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't it floundering under his ownership from the beginning?

It was actually the most profitable casino in AC until the Borgata opened. It had a rough initial year in which it had to declare bankruptcy due to massive construction costs, but then became massive.

I guess declaring bankruptcy in the first year is what I meant by floundering under trump. I'll drop the topic and leave it in one of the already existing trump threads.

Not defending or supporting him, just stating what happened. The Bankruptcy was pretty much a foregone conclusion before he even purchased it. It was originally just the "Taj Mahal", then Trump bought it after the previous owners had spent years constructing it and just absolutely hemorrhaged money. Almost all of the massive construction debt was inherited.

I wonder what they'll do with all those nasty, sticky, grimy, dirty chips.

You can redeem AC casino chips forever. They will be ground up and destroyed - never resold.

Not true anymore. They will still be destroyed because they could be redeemed in court after they close.

From Ricky (All-Chips.com)

I asked if AC chips are redeemable forever.

It used to be true.... When a casino goes under they are worthless.... You can cash some trump stuff at Taj for now but everything that was in the Atlantic Club is dead! all Golden Nugget Hilton Ballys Grand and Atlantic cub dead. You can go to bankruptcy for Atlantic club unless that's over already

Ricky means you could go to Bankruptcy court to file a proof of claim before its over.

Glad I got to play there before they closed it, but the immunization program before I visited was a real bitch. I should've just rafted down the Amazon like I originally planned - way safer.

With open cuts on your submerged arms and legs, while swallowing mouthfuls of river water.

According to auction website liquidation sale starts tomorrow. Per above though from those who know.......No chips?!!! Sad (the no chips part).
