Got it!!!I can't find the friggin thread!!! Lol
I mean you’d have to go to OK to get them but doesn’t sound hard as it’s like a drop chip per hand so getting 20 every few mins bouncing tables seems plausibleI can't find the friggin thread!!! Lol
Honestly aside from the house mould part they're really nice fracsI mean you’d have to go to OK to get them but doesn’t sound hard as it’s like a drop chip per hand so getting 20 every few mins bouncing tables seems plausible
Very interesting collection of chips. Frac case! You know you're hardcore if you have a dedicated frac case! Some of those 50c chips look ideal, but like you say finding a quantity (and at a good price) is the hard part.RHCs are more prone to damage yes. But mostly from dropping them, slamming them into pots. These chips make it years in casinos, but they are clay composite...
So I went and checked the ole Frac case

Sorry my pictures suck! Lol here is what I found for RHC fracs...

On the left is a promo chip and a sweet $.20 frac! Both RHCs! More options than I thought actually
Only thing I have a few of

Definitely I would say harder to find playable quantities of RHCs than THCs... not that I am an expert but I do own a few racks of THC Hot Stamped Quarters.

I think the tournie chips could be a good option. Not to taken by the roulette chips, but they definitely offer a cheap alternative to other chips. All excellent options here. Someone also mentioned solid tourney RHCs which I think fits your Jack Cinci set really well. Is your 50c chip your lowest denomination chip? If so, you can also explore roulettes as they're pretty affordable and fit in with the RHC style.

@Pinkdan can you toss a pic of the tonk fracs up for me?
Those are retired I believeThose Tonkawa 50c chips are perfect.....don't live anywhere near Oklahoma though unfortunately.
Yeah Tonkawa chips are not live, they pop up for sale from time to time here, most folks have them in sets but a few racks still float around. When you are able you can try a wanted ad alsoThose Tonkawa 50c chips are perfect.....don't live anywhere near Oklahoma though unfortunately.
Oh! That's good. I'll keep an eye out for them. I can't make an ad until I've made ten posts or something. You're seem to be having the craic anyway. How bad. Jaysus your man looks more Irish than myself!
Looks good! Cards, beers and cigars. Ye are really living it up. You have a nice setup to be fair.Had to Google Craic, thank God for Google! Haha
Just try to be inviting and welcome new members. Not always the easiest of situations to walk into a world wide forum, a group of people that communicate and operate together on the daily and find a way to become part of that. Just want you to know you are welcome here amongst us chip nerds.
But yes my beautiful significant other @FordPickup92 and I are usually the loud ones in the room! Lol

That's us with our good friend @Lil Tuna ! (He drove 3 hours to smoke Cigars and throw cards on the porch with us!) Chips are awesome, but the friendships you make here are the best part!!
And if you are curious about what chips were in play... it is our mixed Hot Stamp set!

2 different fracs... because well... it's fun and they look amazing together! Haha
I've thought exactly this myself and it makes a lot of sense. The set is going to be predominantly used to play small single table tournament games. 6-7 people max. I've bought about half the chips I want already. The set will be mainly 1, 5 and 25 (with a small few 100 thrown in). This allows me to get a cool set without breaking the bank. I just want to start with a small playable set and maybe add to it overtime. Filling out the set to suit my tournament needs is the first priority, and then down the road potentially add some blanks/sunbursts/fracs as 25c/50c chips. Just for the cool factor of the fracs more than anything. I think the plain or hotstamp low value frac stacks next to the inserted and inlayed higher denomination stacks looks very slick. I don't think I'll be going down the road of milling and all that carry on to begin with anyway.Im going to preface this with I realize I’m going to get a lot of hate with this post.
What does your cash game look like? How many are playing? What’s the buy in? Etc.
Here’s why I ask.
The majority of my sets are 500-600 chip sets. 3 colors. Maybe a 4th. Usually plaques for the 4th/5th for color up.
But My games are all .25/.25... max $40 buy in to start. Can rebuy anything up to $35 whenever you’re under $5 on the table as many times as you want. My chip sets are all built for 800-1500... add plaques in it can go wherever. And that brings me back to the 3 color thing. Make them whatever you want. We all grew up with red white and blue plastic chips. We made them whatever cent you wanted ha. Why do you need a 50¢ chip? I’m not saying you don’t but IMO that an odd choice.
If you’re building a Jack set just use the $5 as a 50¢... then build around that. Maybe use the $25 as a 25¢... the $1 as a 10¢... keep it simple. 3 chips. Then just make sure your friends know what each is worth. No reason to spend money milling, relabeling, etc. maybe later... but at this point it sounds like you just want some cool chips to have some fun with your buddies. Which is TOTALLY fine. No reason to get crazy.
If you’re going Jack, my opinion is to buy:
200 $25s to use as quarters/blinds
300 $1s for $1s
100 $5s as $5s
Maybe substitute a barrel of $5s for a barrel of $100s if you’re going to get crazy. But IMO that’s more that enough for a cash game if you’re talking about using 50¢

The roulettes are definitely an option but the stamping of roulette on the edges puts me off them.
I'll do the same I'd say but probably do 25, 1 and 5 for 25c, dollar and five dollars. And pick up some fracs down the road.I just got a set of the Jack Cincys and I’m going to use the $25 as .25 and $5 as .05 when I’m playing micro stakes games. I’d eventually like to find suitable fracs without paying an arm and a leg but I figure this will do for now.
You’re welcome ;-)The roulettes are definitely an option but the stamping of roulette on the edges puts me off them.
