Looking for advice on what to see and do in Krakow. My wife and I are going there wednesday 13th to sun 17th. We’re going to see Pearl Jam in Tauron arena on the 14th (has been on hold since 2020) and have booked a day-tour to Auschwitz on the 16th. Other than that we have no idea. I know old town is worth a visit, as is Oscar Schindler factory. There must be tons of other things to see in this beautiful city. Would also very much appreciate restaurant recommendations!

@surfik

Thanks!

Erik

I have just spent a week in northern poland. No issues with payments anywhere. I did have cash on hand though, but used both cash and cards many times without issue anywhere.

It been more than 10 years since my last visit to Kraków..
No idea on restaurants but strongly recomend Kazimierz (old Jewish district), lots of pubs, restaurants and all sorts of Bohemian activities...
Have lots of fun...
PS. Trefl are made in Krakow if you want to visit factory...

Credit cards are fine but you may need some cash for taxi and so on....
I suggest to arrange cash at bank or decent exchange place,
Lucky for you PLN exchange rate is favorable to your advantage

I asked a friend from Krakow, he said this:

This entire district is a very nice place - including this huge park in the middle
There are some cafes and restaurants and ofc Museums including Oscar Schindler's factory

And while hes there he should totally go to Krakus Mound

Nice surroundings, a lot of nature on the way there and amazing view of the entire City from up there

You get Polish fast-food there known as zapiekanka. They serve the best ones in Poland
Plus the district where it is is very nice and worth going for a walk

And here's a place with very good food trucks: Judah Food Market

And theres an Engineering Museum right next to it

Aaaaaand to finish ill recommend a place to have a beer

Awesome, thank you!

Safe travels. We did Auschwitz. As long as you make that journey, your trip will be a success. We ran into some JAGs and the night got a little rowdy. All my memories from that point are cobwebs.

JAGs?

Attorneys. Specifically U.S. military attorneys. And more specifically some young pent up military attorneys ready to party!
