Some people go crazy on serial numbers.
Let's say there is a $5 chip with a limited edition of 500 chips. I had a chip with a very low serial number of 002, which I paid $15 more than chips without a low serial number.
On eBay a year ago, I wanted a chip with serial number 0001/2500. They all went crazy, and couldn't get them. Instead, I got 0003/2500 shown below (also on ChipGuide under my name).
