When placing labels do you try to line them up with the edge spots?

Examples below.

Which do you prefer? First or second option? Or does it depend on label design/ edge spot placement etc?

Totally random on every chip? Do you match front and back so when you turn over the chip it lines up? Or is that random as well?

Totally random. But do what you like best, it's all subjective. (y)

Given those options I alternate it. Don't care about the back being same as front. If 3 spot and 3 colors I would alternate between the 3. That's as random as I can get....I tried totally random and found I was still looking for something to align to

If relabeling Paulsons or casino chips, I go with random (matching the orientation of the original inlays).

For customs, it depends on the set -- some label designs look better with a specific uniform look in relation to the spots; others look better with random placement.

I couldn't do random when I got my unlabeled chips. I tried with one, and it tilted me so bad I aligned the rest.

This happened to me too. I just started labeling 1000 Paulsons. My intention was to use the match the original alignment method, but I just couldn't do it.

It really doesn't take any additional time to align the labels as you apply them. In fact, I discovered that aligning to the same spot provided visual cues that made the application easier and more consistent.

The one on the right.

I haven't labeled many chips, but when I do, I align them. In the case of the 414 example shown, I would do half one way and half the other, more or less.

Re 314, 3D14, etc., I prefer the spots to be at 4, 8, and 12. The seemingly more common orientation of 2, 6, 10 tilts me.

Random isn't in my nature.
