Since it came up in the Taj sale thread, As since the Taj holds a special place in poker lore cause of Rounders, would anyone be interest in a grouo buy centered around custom, "fantasy tribute" Taj Mahal chips?

I'm thinking just the Taj logo (whatever that spiral thing is called) on the inlay. And possibly Taj Mahal around the outer edges like the real chips. Or maybe, to avoid copyright, which may not come in to play since the place doesn't exist anymore, but to maybe avoid it just put "Taj Poker" or "Taj AC" around the outside. Then again, Taj Mahal may not be a legal issue since it's not just a casino name.

When I get home I'll post pics of the real Taj chips and draw up a rough design of the $1 and $5.

If this thread doesn't get at least a page worth of interest by tomorrow night, I'll delete it.

Any thoughts? There aren't a whole lot of these chips floating out there in large quantities since it's NJ DGE law that casino chips must be destroyed when a casino closes. So I figure maybe a replica would be worth doing.

Reminds me of a story. I never told anybody this, about eight nine months ago, I'm at the Taj it's late and I see Johnny Chan walk in and he goes and sits in the three hundred six hundred section and the whole place stops and everybody puts an eye on him, after a while there wasn't a craps game going on because all the high rollers are over there watching and some of them playing but they're giving their money to him and say "oh", I played with the world champion", you know what I did? I sat down. I had six grand but I had to know. Played tight for an hour, folded mostly then I made a score. With rags, I had nothing, but he raised and I decided I don't care about the money, I'm just going to out play the guy, I'm going to out play this guy, this hand, I'll re-raise. He comes back over the top at me trying bully me like I'm some tourist, I hesitate for like two seconds then I'll re-raise and he makes a move to his checks and he looks at me, check his cards and looks at me again, and he mucked it, I took it down. I got up and walked to the cashier, I sat with the best in the world, and I won.

I'm trying to post the rough drafts I did of the $1 and $5 chip but it won't let me post on my phone or on the desktop. Is there some kind of max pictures per day rule here?

Finally let me post a screenshot. Don't know why it wouldn't let me do it any other way.

No mention of Trump anywhere. And as mentioned Im sure we can get away with having Taj Mahal around the outside. But we could go with Taj Poker as I also put.

If this happens...lets not do SunFly. Itil be more like Summer 2020 at this rate. Funny enough the $1 real deals have the traditional clay feel. But the $5 almost do have a ceramic feel
 
I can't recall @Tommy does SunFly have the 39mm with oversized inlay or would it be another new mold we have them create? :) For the $10 & $20

Being lazy and don't feel like searching or walking down to the basement for the samples.

Rough of the $25 and $100. $100 can be the secondary with the orange. Colors look great together on the real deal

Not sure what makes you think this. Sun-Fly can turn around an order in ten weeks or less.

It's the group design process that takes most of the time..... and it's time well spent.

Sun-Fly is also the only manufacturer that offers ceramic hybrid chips.

Interesting. I thought it was the company being slow. Good to know it's not them.



Since the Boardwalks are being made as ceramic hybrids, would anyone be interested in making these different? Does SunFly offer other types of material? I would be interested in trying to keep these just over or even under 40c/chip. Definitely under 50c
