I've only cleaned/restored about 300 of these and it looks like I got my work cutout for me. I have just shy of 6200. Breakdown:

620 x. 25
660 x. 50
900 x 1
620 x 2
620 x 3
660 x 5
800 x 10
480 x 20
330 x 100
300 x 200
20x 500 43mm
20x 1000 43mm
+ a bunch of multi-denom randoms

Born and raised in SJ, I first learned to play here @ the Garden City. It's still sad to see it gone.

nice! one big purchase or did you cobble together a lot of other sets?

Nice. Very cool that you are able to have such an awesome set with sentimental value. I am trying to acquire a small Binion's Horseshoe set for the same reason...

Thanks you guys :) I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoys the overpopulated set. When my wife first came home she just walked into the office and said, "so, are we opening a casino?". Hmm.... not a bad idea

Holy crap! Nice! Are you using the sonic cleaning method?

Not familiar with that method. The BCCs are pretty resilient so I took a page from the book @ ChipTalk and I use a few drops of mild dish soap in addition to some Oxyclean in warm water with a 5 minute soak time and a tooth brush. I let them dry and evap all the left over moisture for 24 hours then I oil both sides twice, 24 hours apart.

Thank you! I came from CT I didn't realize there was such a huge following here.

I hope you can find your set. Having a personal connection to a set I think makes it a million times better. My buddies and I are using this set for home cash games and each of us have played @ Garden before so it's pretty cool to go relive that experience (close enough, anyway)

Go big or go home must be part of your lifestyle.

LOL. You hit it on the head. I can't half-ass anything. All or nothing. Fortunately i've managed to avoid any incarceration and I'm not flat broke! Must be doing something right.

That is about as f-in incredible as it comes. That is a BIG set. Congrats!!!

Absolutely. The Garden City chips were the first playable set of casino chips I acquired. One of the guys from my game had actually played there too. That is definitely neat.

I highly recommend looking in to the sonic cleaning method Tommy linked you to.

That sonic cleaner also cleans jewelry!? Hot damn, looks like I have a rock solid justification for purchasing it now without flack from the Mrs.

Well, these chips and my entire set of Casino Malta clays are absolutely filthy. With my current method it takes me about 1.5 hours per 100. So it looks like I need to step up my game since I need to clean about 10k @ some point in 2015.

Thanks for the heads up Shaggy and Tommy.
