Hey all,

Seeing all the great custom sets out there got me thinking about getting my Gangster Squad chips done by CPC. Several months ago I had designed these. Wondered what everyone thinks of them. Favorite colors are red and blue so naturally I wanted several chips to have those colors. I love the Terrible's .50's so I wanted to mimic that with my .25. Ben's 5 was so incredible I needed to have that for one of my chips too.

The denominations would be .25/ 1/ 5/ 20.

Let me know what you all think. I think spot progression is ok...

I really like the color combos except the 5 (not sure why). I'm with spikeithard as far as spots though, I would also like to see a progression of spots. BUT these are your chips and you need to be happy with them.

Cali 5 FTW! This set is coming out great!

I really like the $1 and $20. A lot. The frac is nice but something about the spot colors on the $5 isn't as pleasing to my eyes. I love the cali-style colors. Have you considered a blue $1 with white and red spots? :)

lol progression. I never understood this desire.

I have always been of the opinion that the workhorse chip should be the one you like the most. Design around that.
ya.. guess its just the 'thing to do' but also being different is great too. Just would like to see them with a progression for comparison thats all

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I'll mock up a simpler progression set too.

I am in the mind set that the workhorse chip should be my favorite designs so that's why I went all out with edgespots :). Why save the cool designs for the chips that hardly ever get used?

Keep the comments and suggestions coming!

I think they look great, and unless I'm going blind or senile, there IS a spot progression with these already. Are they similar? Yes. Are they different? Yes. Are they easily distinguished in stacks and pots? Yes. If you like 'em, ship it.

Just a note, you will probably need to modify your inlay giving it more room around the outer edge. Check the template on the CPC website. For example 1 1/16 inlay the graphics area is 15/16th.

Well, the $5 is nice. (Pic compliments of @Redbelly)

Oh yeah and that $20 is SIIIIICK. :D

I like the frac and the $1 - but not sure I like them enough to justify their outrageous spot levels. I think switching the frac to 4A14 and the $1 to 314318A would be just as effective if not more so, and save you a bundle of cash. Also I feel like the $1 should be base-blue in a Cali set (and generally avoid white $1s whenever possible regardless, but that's just my thing - lots of people dislike blue $1s as well...)

I like blue $1s (better as quarters IMO ;) ) and also white $1s too. I started playing BJ and poker in Atlantic City in back in the 90s so I want to stay true to those colors for my first CPC set. If I hit the lotto, a cali set would be my next.

Looking good Dan.

This!

After pricing out those chips I took @Ben's advice and changed the .25 and 1's edge spots to a more reasonable level 2 and level 7. Rather then Level 9 and 11. I put the white and the blue version of the 1. I'm up in the air on which I like better.

Once I get the colors and inlays nailed down I'll redo the color matching being the denoms are color matched to my current GS chips. Also there will be a 20 dollar not a 25 this time.

The $5 and the $20 are locked down design wise as I love those two exactly how they are.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!~

Both of those $1s are hawt. Of course I'm partial to the blue though.

Looks good. I think the white $1 goes better with the pink frac and yellow $5.

Looking good. I'm torn about the $1...I think the white base looks better within the set, but the use of dark blue instead of blue as the spot colour ruins it for me. As posted, I would go with the blue $1.

I usually say blue ones hands down...but for some reason my eyes are drawn to the white one when viewd in context of this set. Don't know why this time it's different, especially with the yellow five I am used to seeing a blue one, but Im digging that white.

You can NOT go wrong with either though, looks great!

I actually think if I go white which I'm leaning towards I'll change the spots from dark blue to regular blue. :)

Thanks for all the comments. I'm about 90% sure I'm going to go white.

What do we think of the pink .25 with the new edgespots?

Holy Frak! You've made these look good. Pretty awesome. Sample set for me please, if you make them available.

what about a brighter blue on the white based $1 chips? maybe the retro blue, regular blue or even light blue.

Dark blue IMO looks almost black
