I'm interested in creating a tournament set with casino chips. Given that 1, 5, and 25 are the cheapest / easiest to get, does anyone have a STT structure that's heaviest on these denoms and lighter on the 100+?

I have taken T25 and basically divided by 25 as a starting point, with 1/2 blinds and a ~400 chip starting stack. I would also shift heavier into $25s and less in $100s, so slightly more chips on the table overall.

I can't be the only one to have this thought though, what am I missing? Why is T1 not a thing?

There is a couple of T1 structure out there but it just not popular as most people are already playing with those denominations during Cash Game

10/13/9/1 $1/$5/$25/$100 will give everyone a starting stack of $400 starting blind at $1/$2

T5 will prob be your next best bet after T1

10/10/7/2 $5/$25/$100/$500 will give everyone a starting stack of $2000 starting blind at $5/$10

Makes sense on differentiating cash from tournament denoms.

10/8/14 should work fine. Could go 15/17/12 for bigger stacks but still 400. If 100s are available 10/8/10/2 for a 500 stack? Realistically you can play with no 100s on the table but a few for color ups would be ideal. You’ll want some if there are rebuys too. You can build a great dedicated tournament set for a lot cheaper than using actual live cash chips. The reason T1 isn’t a typical thing is because people naturally like bigger numbers for tournaments and it really does differentiate itself from a cash game.

It's not a thing because people are not used to it.

My Breakdown is
120 $1
100 $5
80 $25

With a starting stack of $300.
