Fournier Playing Card Recommendations (1 Viewer)

for delivery to the US i get a message saying that they can't deliver to my address.
How would one go about doing that? I have called and e-mailed multiple times with no luck

How about another vendor that is willing to ship to the US?
Weird, I just put in an order a week and a half ago (at a premium rate) with no issues.

The message I get is the following:
"Unfortunately, there are no carriers available for your delivery address."

No judging....
I was thinking I would order a bunch of set ups trying to make shipping reasonable on a per deck basis

Just be warned that buying more does not necessarily save you on shipping. Buying just two more decks would have made my shipping go up from 32 euro to 52 euro :wow: :vomit:

Yeah, I've ordered from multiple european sites. You always want to punch in a few different combinations to see where the best bang for your buck shipping sweet spot actually is.

I did the same, but then when I got up to 6 set ups (12 decks) shipping went to 0, but when I went to check out I got that message...

Any other European sites that you can recommend for Fournier to the US?

Not off the top of my head. I tend to follow reccomended links - I don't keep a database. And I think I've gotten all my fourniers through eBay sellers, though I haven't bought any in a while.

There is a seller on e-bay selling Fournier from Lithuania. No cases or boxes though so I'm reluctant to buy that way.

I don't get why it should be so hard to buy nice cards....

It's a pretty stupid generalization, but I've had good experience with Lithuania. They seem to be able to ship very cheaply.

Jesus. Amazon tells me that back in 2017, I ordered a deck of these aberrations -$9.99 with free shipping. I don’t even remember them - I must have sold them as soon as I saw them.

My wife and I missed a trip to Europe in 2020 due to COVID. I swear, if/when we eventually go, I'm bringing a big backpack and just loading it with hard to find decks of cards, Piatniks, Dal Negro Monkeys and NTPs, Copag Belgiums, Fourniers, (any other suggestions?), etc. to resell (and keep some of course)...

Good luck finding them even then. Most retailers that sell these mostly sell online unless you're willing to go to the brick and mortar stores in the Netherlands and Italy that are the only two that I know of.

+1 on the Lithuanian eBay seller to get Fourniers. Their prices shot up over the course of the past few months. You can still snag a two deck set up for about $30 shipped, but their newer listings now charge shipping when they didn't prior and the prices are closer to $40 per set up shipped to your door. The supply chain and logistics issues seem to be hitting Europe as well.

The plastic card manufacturers may have also seen a price hike in raw materials too. I caught a note on Thepokerstore.com's website that their current stock of Kems is the last they'll offer at the current prices, and that a significant price hike is coming.

Sad.

I had no problem contacting him. Maybe you a bit impertinent.. Give him a day or two.
You may also ask Spanish members for reshiping..

Custom officer will have a fun...

Importing playing cards and poker chips into the U.S. should have no duties, so hopefully not a problem. Though I could see myself accidentally saying, "You like these chips? Would you like one as a souvenir?" and then getting busted for trying to bribe a law enforcement officer. :ROFLMAO:

How many set ups did you buy & how much did they charge you for shipping?
FYI, back in January 2021, I paid 15.35 Euro for shipping of 1 set to east coast of the US. Actually more than the cards themselves cost at the time (13.30 Euro)!

I did have to work with Zacarías as he was having COVID-19 related issues when I was initially trying to place the order. He was easy to work with despite a slight language barrier.

Same experience, although he was shipping Grimaud (French system RDV) to Poland

Yes, while shipping within EU is a bit cheaper (not much)...it's not easy to find the really good stuff.
Supply has been an issue and prices are going up on raw materials, logistics, ...

I have more cards then I can use for the rest of my life...but can always add some ;)
When I find stock, I buy at least 4 decks because sometimes (and more often) when they are gone...they are gone.
Not sure what's going on with Piatnik, no more stock and no new supply (poker & bridge) :(
We got lucky we found some Zero decks by dealing direct.

Hello, It is possible that some delay in the house of Zacarias the Covid and the vacations in Madrid end after "Puente de reyes" this Monday :)

if you have problems with Zaca you can try this http://www.rekoppoker.com/122-barajas-de-poker-fournier

this is another serious seller it was the first coach of Carlos Mortensen or if you need I can reship it from spain
Thanks for the offer and for the 2nd source. I will really try & be patient with both before I resort to taking you up on your offer.

... Next, is the 2826 version ...
So, the single deck of BLUE FOURNIER 2826 (#200191743), just got delivered.

As I ordered just one single deck, they got delivered wrapped in cellophane, unlike some other Fournier's (post) I own that were nicely wrapped both in cellophane and boxed. Side note: in my opinion the most nicely wrapped packaging of the cards I now own).

The surface of the 2826 (Bridge-size) feels quite similar to the 2818 (Poker-size). On my scale, the 2826 weighs 2.30 grams, and the 2818 weighs 2.55 grams (both Ace of Spades). From what I can see, the black colour on the 2826 seems to be more black/less matte. I can't really comment on the thickness of the cards.

The Lithuanian eBay seller has some bridge set ups back down now at the "old price" of about $30 shipped. I got two more set ups myself.

I noticed this a few days ago after paying the higher price… I asked them if I could get the difference back, or even give me the difference on another order, and they said no. I tried.

I wanted to provide a little bit of info because i work as a poker dealer at a casino which uses Fournier decks.
I picked up a Fournier deck from the Lithuanian eBay seller that arrived today. bridge sized of course (wait, you guys still use poker size in 2022?)

The cards are incredibly slick and you won't be disappointed.

From dealing here for some time now, it appears there are 3 variants of bridge cards that they are providing the poker room with. All, look identical but feel slightly different. These I would rate as the second best for all circumstances but would still rate this deck very highly. I believe this is Fournier's newer stock.

This was the eBay link. It appears they are currently sold out in both colours. There were 3 left when I bought mine..
