I really like the Fournier Congress cards I have, bridge, jumbo, but the reds are noticeably darker than other cards and myself and players noticed it. Is there a comparable, bridge/jumbo card, with brighter reds?

Are Fournier 2800s the same as the congress? they seem brighter and could be the answer. Actually, is it the2826s that are brighter? I saw some 2800s listed in the Guild review, but the 2800 I found online don't look as bright, assuming the picture there is correct. The 2826s I see look brighter.

The Forunier Congress 2826 & the Fournier 2826 are the same card and both use "Security Red" ink. This is a darker red that is meant to be a security feature that makes it harder to tell if an exposed card in a players hand is red or black from across the table. IMO it is a good thing but lots of people don't like it because it is a darker shade of red.

I only use 2826's so I'm not sure which one use the brighter red. I don't have the link but there is a page at homepokertourney.com that list most of the different styles/types of Fournier cards with pictures so you can see the different shades of red each style of deck uses. If you prefer a brighter red color you can see which style would fit your need.

The link on HPT is http://www.homepokertourney.com/reviews/cards-review-fournier.htm. Based on that page, the Arabesque style is what you are looking for if it's bridge size jumbo.
Note that the numbers alone aren't enough to distinguish them. Both the Congress and the Arabesque are 2826, even though the reds are different.

I know that I have a few types of 2818 cards (poker size jumbo), and some have the lighter red (WSOP Breakout) and some have the darker "security" red (EPT Gold) that matches my Congress cards. The 2800's are poker size jumbo, so they may not be appropriate for you, and the pic on HPT makes me think they use the darker red. Hopefully someone who owns a set will chime in.

Is that really what the security red is for? To minimize the exposure of exposed cards? That's a half-assed solution to something that's barely a problem. And it makes it so much harder to read your own cards at a glance. At least it does with the Fournier 2818 Vision Poker deck I recently reviewed.
This is frustrating, because I love the feel of Fournier cards, but that murky red ink is unacceptable.

Yes that is one of the purposes. If you are sitting at the table and the guy 1 seat over from you is doing a piss poor job of protecting his hand, his neighbor has a harder time determining whether he's holding red or black cards therefore deterring some forms of cheating. The security ink also can be read by casino security cam systems.

I have no problem reading the security red in my hand or on the board and I've got some pretty old eyes but I realize a lot of people do.

Thanks guys. The description for the Arabesque says faded, but I agree they look brighter.

My Bicycle Prestige Jumbos (Fournier made) and WSOP 2818 cards use the lighter red. I'll take a picture of them next to the darker red in the Congress and EPT cards tonight.

Thanks I did see the FDLs and wondered about those.

I also found the Arabesco, for $126.00 pet set, so I snap bought those

I have a setup of the FDL's and they use the brighter/lighter red. Love those cards!
hmm thats interesting, so there is like 5-6 different card back designs for these Fournier 2826 series, FDL, Congrass, Maya, etc, and you think that at least 2 sets have different red tones?

Do u have a set of the Conrgess ones to compare side by side?

Damn you Amazon! OK. Here's where I'm at. I ordered the FDLs. I have to say though, my Guild Arc cards feel very nice next to the Fournier Congress. So much so, I ordered another set of the Guilds. The Guilds feel heavier/thicker, yet they are actually slightly thinner than the Fourniers. The Fourniers are a tad slippery, where the Guilds are not. I honestly have to give a slight not to the Guilds. I can assume the FDLs are the same "card" as the Congress. If so, fine I now how different cards to offer Guilds and Fourniers. If the FDLs are better than the Congress, well then jackpot as now I have two types of very good cards to offer and I'll be content with that.
