Here's some follow-up Pic's of a different part of TX, about 300 miles NE of San Antonio, 50 Miles East of Dallas.

1st time ever Lake Tawakoni has been frozen over with abt 3" of snow on it. " I THINK "

There are accounts of Galveston's bays freezing in the 1800's. Enough so that people could walk on the ice in the shallows. Evens as late as 1949 there are press accounts of ice on the waterways, but mostly not safe to travel over.
