Why does it seem like Florida and Texas have all the good poker table deals?

Texas because casinos are illegal. Not sure about Florida!

I picked up the table for $80 + a dose of Trifexis for their dog :) Overall it is in decent shape with just a few scuffs on the rail.

I removed the crap legs and installed some folding banquet table legs. It seems pretty solid for particle board construction.

I would like to build some type of insert or cover for the chip tray as I rarely use a dedicated dealer. Ideally this would be covered in speed felt or gaming cloth so it would be easier to play over. Any ideas ??

Glad someone picked this up it looks awesome and for $80 you can't beat it!

You will have to make an insert with an over(under?)hang and screw it in from underneath. Pad it so that it fits snugly around all four sides. Should be easy to get a fairly close match on the fabric.

OTH easier to just get a dealer. ;(

Could you refelt the whole table with the cheap Amazon stuff and make some kind of wood insert for where the dealer tray was?

I could, but I don’t think the rail would survive removal. It would likely be better to start with a more structurally sound table than try to try and modify this one.

This table will be fine as is for occasional use. If I do anything, it will just be to make an insert for the dealer tray.

True, and it looks like it could fit 8 without the dealer seat, could just use the cheap rack to display your beautiful chips during the game lol.

The dealer tray probably just lifts out. Moose's suggestion is semi-permanent. You can also set it up where either the insert or tray can be used interchangeably.

Essentially, you want to install a support piece underneath that has enough depth to allow the deeper tray to sit flush as-is. Once that's in place, then measure/cut/pad/felt your insert, with enough overall insert thickness to rest on the support underneath while still being flush with the playing surface on top. Pop it out when you want to use the dealer tray, pop it back in when you don't.

You can also use that empty space to install a flush blinds timer (think Ipad), automatic card shuffler (not recommended), or a clandestine entertainment/porno viewer (NSFW).

I used four mending straps. Two up top on a 45 can be mounted permanently and then the two bottom ones have only one screw in so you can spin them out of the way when the dealer tray is in. We have never put the dealer try back in since I did the job two+ years ago.
