Have you verified the inner height of the drawers?

I once almost trekked across town in a blizzard to pick up some free drawers like these that were used for something big and flat (architectural drawings?). Fortunately, i was able to get the inner height measurement and realized that they were too low to accommodate a rack of chips.

PSA to everyone -- just make sure to double check the clear height inside the drawers, for whatever your storage needs are.

I work in civil engineering, and have seen flat file cabinets like this for plans throughout the years, and I can say most drawers are shallow. (They're designed to store large sheets of plans stacked, but *might* not have enough clear height to fit chips in plastic racks.

In addition to internal height, keep in mind that these drawers weren’t designed for the weight of chips, and the drawer bottom may not be up to the task.
