Hello Chippers,

I’m a semi-regular poker player who is way more successful collecting chips off the the table than on. The only difference is I know exactly what I’ve spent collecting chips and I stopped counting how much I’ve lost losing them. Either way I know I enjoy collecting the most. When I started playing in regular games that weren’t Molly’s Game stakes but enough that you’d expect something better than plastic chips with no denominations and for some reason dice around the edges. When I started hosting, bought some China Clays... MILANOS from Apache. Only one person even noticed. He was the first and only Chip Head I had met. In fact, he’s the one who told me about this site. Anyway, one game about 10 moths later someone looked at the $1 chips and noticed they said TEN in tiny letters. I called Apache and they wouldn’t replace because 10 months. Which I get, but the flaw drove me crazy so I started looking for new chips a read a lot, mostly on this site and saw Paulson Top Hat and Canes from the Casino formerly known as The Cleveland Horseshoe that had recently rebranded. I’ve never been to the casino, however, I did live in Cleveland for one year and spent a lot of time at a lounge where the casino would later sit. But really I was obsessed with the $100 Black chip with baby blue, white, and light brown striped edges. knew it was a silly amount to pay for chips for a game where only a few guys even appreciates that the chips aren’t plastic. It didn’t matter because I had to have them, And Red $5 with ugly blue and white stripes and the $25 Green with Orange and Light Green edges, the $1’s, not my fav but you need $1 so I bought a set of 750... from Apache. I cleaned each one with, oxiclean, a tooth brush, and love. I oiled them and have never regretted it.

Interesting that you don't care for the $1's. A lot of people here agree that they're the best chips in the set. Have you noticed the physical differences of that chip, compared to the other chips? Because the space for the inlay is smaller on the $1, there's more exposed clay. The $1's are made on Paulson's THC mold. The other denominations in the set are made on Paulson's RHC mold. Many collecters prefer the THC mold to just about everything else.

Yeah, I don’t know why. I just responded tsk another post specifically about THC whites. In my set they are for sure the most chipped up. Some of my $5 reds and $25 Greens are worn but few are chipped. I honestly don’t mind a little wear and tear on chips from a casinos because it reminds you that they had a long life before you got them. But the whites seem tk he the only chipped ones I have.

Because I didn’t like the whites I recently completed my dream set. THC with the Blue $1. That might be my favorite chip. And without question it is my favorite $1 chip. I’ll post pictures of that set soon, but I don’t want to be the new kid rushing into the dugout to show off my new bat.

I remember how chipped up those were. It was strange. Personally, I find it charming. But I'm probably in a small minority there.

Hello and welcome. I also love the Horseshoe Cleveland set, I've added to mine since this picture was taken - two racks of Secondary Snappers and a couple racks of Secondary 100's. But, it is one of my favorite sets:
