I hope you used a hazmat suite while transporting them. They need a serious bath! Nice score though ... I wonder how the colors might pop a bit after a good cleaning.

I've left hot-stamped Paulsons in metasilicate detergent for over triple that time, without problems.
Interesting. I left a chip sit in Sodium Sesquicarbinate, another TSP substitue, and the foil turned black.

Foils vary and cleaners vary, and they are often incompatible -- sometimes dependent on time and/or temperature, sometimes not.

To minimize foil damage, always test on any new combination, and never make assumptions based on 'similar' history or take anything for granted.
