I have been looking for a set of 300 chips for a while now and I’ve come down to the Ravenor Classics from sunfly/apollon chips. Anybody have any similar recommendations or anything bad to say about these chips before i place an order? I wanna hear some opinions

These are PolyClay chips - meaning ceramic with debossed elements.
They stack like bricks, they do not have spinners, ... So in my opinion, very good ceramic chips.

If you like their stock design (and ceramic chips), you cannot go wrong with these chips.

What stakes do you play with how many players? Cash or tourney? Do you plan to grow your game at some point or play higher stakes?

300 doesn’t sound like enough chips, pretty much regardless of what kind of games you play. Most new people come here with a set idea of how many chips they want (myself included) but that usually differs from what we would consider an optimal breakdown.

Cash or tourney? If cash, what stakes? If tourney, rebuys/add-ons? How many players?

I'd not agree. For tournaments, it can be enough for 9 or 10 players.

9 players - base T25
75 x 25
75 x 100
50 x 500
75 x 1000
25 x 5000

10 players - base T100
100 x 5
100 x 25
75 x 100
25 x 500

Well sure, it’s possible but not optimal imo. I’m strongly in the 12/12/5/6 >>>>>>>>>8/8/6/6-camp

300 are enough for six handed cash game as well, many of our first plastic set are 300

$1 x 100
$5 x 100
$25 x 60
$100 x 40

Are just enough bank for $1/$2 stake 6 handed poker

Agreed. While 300 is definitely pushing it, it’s feasible. I also think a lot of people on here get blinded by these monstrous sets that are over 1000 chips.

Getting input from the forums is always a strong move, but you really want to understand what you like and dislike about the chips. For some its appearance and art, others its color saturation or brightness, others put more value on feel, some can't stand spinners, still we have nits that wouldn't spend 1c more on a better chip given the option, and others need a .0003 variance on sound of the chip.

ONLY YOU can prevent forest fires!

Me and my friends only play tournaments at the moment. Around 8 people including me. We just keep it simple no rebuys or anything. And i do plan on growing my game to play cash games. The stakes we play at are pretty low. We maybe do 5$ to 20$ a person for tournaments. We play mostly for fun and the pride of winning lol.
