Hello,

I have a set of Paulson National Poker Series and I would like to finish it, with a 25¢ or 50¢ chips for my cash games. I do not like non-denominated chips (except NCV of the national Poker series ... but it is still nowhere). I'm not hot to mix it with anything other than Paulson, but I think the BCC Protege 25¢ as an option. What do you think of that? Do you have a better ideas?

Thank you.

Protege chips have a slightly larger diameter than Paulsons, and a harder composition, if those things matter to you.

Maybe relabel one of the Paulson Classics (white, orange, or purple)? IIRC those are on the same mold and are still readily available.

this is definitely the best option imo.

Yeah, any of the PAULSON MOLD chip lines would work best: Classics, JB's, Pharaoh's, or NPS -- just re-label a color not already in use using the spot config you like best.

Thanks.. I'm not familiar with re-labelling. Do I need to remove the old vinyl label or I just put the new label (from http://www.pokerchipslabels.com/) on the old label? This not cause problems with stacking the chips because of the thickness?

Thanks.

Thanks.

You will need to get labels that are thin enough to fit inside the depth of recessed area. They go over top of the inlay.

I'd go with either the $1000 or the $1 to label as quarters.

Reasonable base chip choices for a relabeled 25c NPS chip would include the Classics $1, $500, and $1000, and the NPS gray no-denom, purple 500, and yellow 1000. The gray chip spots probably match up best with your existing set.

I'd contact Gear Labels (a vendor here in the PCF Marketplace) for thin vinyl labels that you can apply directly on top of the existing inlay. He can design the matching artwork, and cut the labels to the exact size you need to fit the chips you get:

My thoughts exactly.

Also, welcome to PCF!

Really Dave?

So your recommendation to a new member is that he contact one sponsor (Gear) to replicate another sponsor's (Apache) chip design?

@OP if you would like a NPS 25¢ label, you should contact Josh @ Apache and ask permission.

Didn't know that Apache did the NPS chips. I would have made the same recommendation.

Well, my recommendation was based on contacting a reputable label supplier (instead of the one the OP linked) for a label to be used on an original NPS chip (no prospective original chip sale would be circumvented). However, sincere apologies to J5 for my late-night brain fart regarding the intellectual property issue. For those that don't know, Johnny5 actually designed the excellent National Poker Series inlays. Best approach is to ask for permission from J5 (inlay designer) and ApachePokerChips (chip producer), even if for home use. Then use Gear Labels to get the job done, unless Apache requires that J5 do the artwork changes prior to Gear producing the labels.

And thanks for publicly blasting all of the folks with similar recommendations, John. Got a bone to pick? Email me.
