So I picked up a rack of yellow Nevada Mold starburst chips a little while back having no use for them whatsoever. Here is the link to the auction:

Then I went and picked up bunch of Nevada Mold chips that had been milled, thinking I could make a Nevada Mold cash set using those starbursts as fracs. I picked up the milled chips here:

So here I am with all of these blank, milled chips and not a creative bone in my body. I see some of the classic looking sets on here, and know full well that I could NEVER come up with designs as good as these on my own. My strength is in Brisket, not in label design. I can accept that.

Anyway, if you are creative and want to help me out of the kindness of your heart for a fellow chip degenerate, then I am all ears. We can make this a community project if there is enough interest, sort of a "GoLabelMe" project. I will commission @Gear to make the labels when and if we are able to put this together.

With the exception of the fracs, there should be more than enough extra chips for me to distribute sample sets to those who are willing to help guide me to a final version. Looking for traditional colored chips for the $1/$5/$25/$100 denominations.

My likes:

Traditional looking chips that look like they were made in the 70s or earlier.
Muted colors
incorporating the chip color/mold into to the label design when possible

My Dislikes:

Bright colors
overcrowded labels

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

Updated with photos from the original listings. I didn't take the photos, and the credit belongs to the sellers at the links provided.

I was actually stationed in Twenty-Nine Palms, CA on two different occasions during my Marine Corps tenure, which is in the Mojave Desert. Are those Joshua trees?
Yes, it was the best idea I could come up with when I had a set of these i wanted to stamp. but it could be used in an inlay as well, I think.

I think the concept is fantastic. Forgive my ignorance, but will Gear reproduce labels from the older casinos without issue, or will they require them to be changed in some fashion?
Need to get with him but I think he will do closed casinos

I like the idea of old casino’s for your chips. What about potentially doing demolished casinos theme? And call it the “dig chip set" or something like that.

I can’t do artwork, but one thing I have found that helps a designer is to provide a summary of what you are looking for along with a bunch of images of things you like.

For the chips you selected, when I think of a pre-1975’s chip this is what comes to mind:

Simple, Cartoonish and perhaps not entirely PC

Sorry, a couple of other things came to mind....

If you were to do a demolished casino or “dig” theme. A couple of more random thoughts:

The dealer button could be in the shape of a shovel or have shovel on it.

The bomb pot could be in the shape of dynamite or have a crane with a wrecking ball

ill probably never finish these i designed, i had a solids set i was going to print these, but ill never get around to it haha

not exactly the original, i used a fresh font for the denoms, and crisped it al up from a high res san of an original.

This is precisely the type of label I was thinking about.
