I collect clay casino chips. Fractional inlaid chips only. And none from Nevada. (Waaaay to expensive. There are 10c chip singles that cost $500, and I don't want to even think about what a 50c inlaid El Cortez small crown would cost.) There is something about these chips that appeals to me. I think I enjoy the humor behind these million-dollar casinos spending more than the value of these chips to provide these chips for their customers. Except for some of the early TRKing chips, I bet all of them cost more than face value to manufacture.

So I'm going through my frac singles collection to document it. At some point I probably need to show my thousands of dollars worth of poker chip singles and sets to my insurance people and get an item policy. I thought I'd take some photos along the way, with some commentary, in case some of you ever find some of these in the wild.

That picture is terrible, especially of the top row. Here let me get those chips better, because some of them are spectacular.

This is every chip (that fits my criteria) from Arizona, Florida, and Iowa. Iowa is missing a Casino Q 50c chip, but I have a guy with one. There isn't a state with as many chips as Arizona that has as much variety. There are racks of the Ft McDowell chips out there. My favorites are the Florida Miccosukee. Leaded (probably) with textured inlays. If you ever see one in good condition for $3 or less, buy it. I promise somebody here will want it from you. More later.

I've got some time for another page. This time it's Illinois and Indiana. This is all the chips from those states, and there are TONS of sexy chips.
WIN_20190525_18_38_02_Pro.jpg

It looks as though Illinois requires mustard for its 50c chips, or maybe that is coincidence. That would explain the Jumers 25c chip.

I think some of the best chips ever made are the original Casino Queen chips. I know a guy who will buy them.

I have seen or heard of racks of every Indiana chip EXCEPT the Indiana Gaming 25c chip. If you see one for $5 or less, buy it. Same with the Horseshoe 25c chip. Those never come up for sale.

Kansas has one casino with an inlaid frac.

Michigan and Minnesota today.

WIN_20190525_18_41_11_Pro.jpg

I'm normally not one to collect variants, but there are two distinct Greektown inlays, and I just happened to have both in some chips I bought, so I kept them. There are lots and lots of racks of the Detroit 25c chips. It's probably a running joke among the Detroit casinos about 25c chip reorders. "Hey Chuck, did you put your 25c reorder in this month?" "Nah, we took some harvesters into a back room in March and haven't had to do that in a while." There are no THC Michigan fracs, but I think my favorite is the Soaring Eagle because it has a textured inlay.

The Minnesota Grand Casino 50c chips are awesome, but are over a decade obsolete at this point.

This morning is Missouri.
WIN_20190525_18_44_19_Pro.jpg

Ameristar upgraded their chips, and I have the two missing chips on the way. The best chips here are obviously the old leaded Aztars and PCAs.

EVERY chip here has a secondary backup. I think that is Missouri gaming law. So there is another Lumiere Place 50c chip, and another Riverside 50c chip. It's simply that a lot of them have never been seen intact in public. These are the ones that have made it out to us. There are notched examples of some of them out there, but I don't do notched chips.

I've seen them before, but, DANG! those Miccosukee 50¢ chips! Anyone have a rack they'll sell me? I'm offering face value! :D

Also, what's with that amazing quarter in your avatar?

Casino Semiramis in Cairo Egypt. I've only ever seen one, and I bought it. I'll post the pic here in case I ever change my avatar, so people know what the heck we are talking about.

Leaded THC textured inlay casino frac. Beautiful colors. Does not get any better IMO.

My pictures really are terrible. Whatever. Today we have Mississippi and Montana.

Not sure how many of these are live. Maybe a couple of them? The green chip in the middle is from Crystal Card Club, which is open.

The older looking THC chips here are textured, the newer looking RHC chips are not. My favorite is the Players Club 25c chip. I know a guy with 157 of them, and I found an extra so he will soon have 158. I love all the Mississippi chips I think, though the giant/grand inlay on the Silver Star is too big.

Hodgepodge here. North Dakota, New Mexico, Oklahoma (missing 1, it's on the way), Oregon, South Dakota, Wyoming, Wisconsin

See that chip on the bottom left. It is RARE. Grand Casino Hayward Lac Courte Oreilles 50c chip. The completionist in me had to have it. The pink Indigo Sky chips are pretty cool. There are a few ASM chips in here, and even a BCC chip.

I’ve got two racks of those indigo sky’s, still figuring out what to do with them. I’ve tried starting two or three sets around them but eventually the sets get cannabalized and those go back in the shelf. Not the easiest to harvest, but if you get a good floor guy not bad. I think they only have a few thousand or so of them, I brought back 300 of them once and it was an event for them.

I'll give you face for them, plus 10%. Ha!

I think they almost have to be a relabel. They are just so...pink.

Incidentally, I think all those 50c Oklahoma chips are live.
Probably like a lot of other places, you have to pay .50 cents per hand to play the table games. That goes into a pool, and that’s where your winnings come from - your not betting against the house, your betting against the “player pool”. But typically the house pays it for you on select nights. But other times- you are paying $2.5 to win $2.00. So of course you need to bet $10.50 to win $10 to overcome this. Sorry for the derail.

Now we're getting to the good stuff. Washington state has an astronomical variety of inlaid casino fracs.
WIN_20190525_18_52_30_Pro.jpg

There are a lot of solids, but there are no standard colors. I am missing the Roxbury Lanes 25c chip. I would pay handsomely for one. Washington is incomplete without it...

A very nice PCFer hooked me up with the Sunset Junction 50c chip. My main contact for getting a lot of my chips had been collecting for many years and had never seen one.

My favorite here is the Olivia. That is the same color inlay on all the Olivia chips, but it matches the color of the 50c chip the best, so it looks the best.

I had a pretty large set of Sunset Junction chips at one time, including a bunch of 50c chips. Wonder if you got yours from my buyer... he's a very nice PCFer. :)

That covers all states except Nevada (too expensive) and California (saving it for last). Here's the California teaser.
WIN_20190525_18_53_52_Pro.jpg

I've got five photos worth of inlaid fracs from California. And I'm missing 8 chips! Gives me something to shoot for. California has had cardrooms long enough that there are some rare birds.

Missing California Club 50c chip:

I like the color matching on the California Club chips, so they are probably my favorites. 19th Hole is still open and I think these are still their chips, so I think they are still live. No, I'm not interested in getting 85 cents for them.

Patience my friend. I hadn't gotten to that group yet. :)

I think Garlic City is in the next group. (I photographed them alphabetically)

Garlic city has good colors. I enjoy the variety of Cali fractional chips. Just on this page there are LMOLD, LCROWN, SCROWN, BIRDSUIT, RHC, THC, HHL, and SUN mold chips. Sadly, I'm missing FOUR chips here:
CA embassy club red 25.jpgCA equipoise club 50.jpgCA folsom lake bowl 50.jpgCA georgians ii 50.jpg
and they are proving to be very elusive. For a more modern chip, Folsom Lake Bowl 50c chips are way too hard to find. I would expect to pay probably $100 or more for each of the others. In that sense, I am hoping that I DON'T find them.

They aren't the most expensive chips here, but my favorites are the El Condor chips. Their whole entire rack is beautiful.

I love that $500. That pic of the $25 is not great.

New pic today BEFORE everybody goes to bed. More Cali, K through O:
WIN_20190525_19_36_40_Pro.jpg

Another bunch with nice variety. I'd like racks of Mr. G's Card Room please. Oceansides are pretty badass too. Landmark 25c chip is the $$ chip in this pic. Not too many of those floating around. Nothing missing until letter P, so this pic is complete. Woo!

Next to last Cali photo today. Some beautiful sets here:
WIN_20190525_19_38_51_Pro.jpg

I love the Outpost, Rainbow, and Rex Club chips. The Rex Club chips also have a $1 and $5 chip which I may or may not collect someday, to complete the set.

By the way, the large crown mold wears down like crap. Small crown wears out much better.

I dabble a little in non-USA land casinos. The chips must still be inlaid clay chips that people actually used. And fractional.
WIN_20190622_12_24_12_Pro.jpg

For the most part, illegal fractional chips are all hotstamps. I liked the two red/maroon illegal chips because the molds are not otherwise in my collection (stars, hearts). Louisiana may not have any casino fracs, but at least they have some illegals. My favorite chip here is the 20c. I'm sure some table game percentage payout necessitated the use of such a goofy denomination, but I have no idea what. The Paradise chip is on the flower mold, my only one, and is from Canada.

Saving the best for last, these are "personal" inlaid fractional custom clay chips.
WIN_20190812_20_27_13_Pro.jpg

It's a good start! These are my favorites of all of my frac chips, and will be the last ones I ever get rid of. If you have one to add as gift, trade, or sale, send me a message!

Hell of a read. I've never been one to collect singles, but you have a great reason and niche that makes this super cool. Learned a lot and thanks for sharing! Can't imagine the cash you have in these chips!
