Well, the great news is that we fixed it!!!!

We reached the target during last week and started work on it
straight away. Sorry I was unable to post progress on CT although I tried plenty
of times.
It has been uninstalled for final fine tuning and while we work on
other orders but it could be available a little earlier than I had planned for
anyone who is ready.

I got a couple of last minute orders from outside of
here so once we start we will have about 4 weeks worth of orders (or more if it
is interspersed with other stuff) so there will be plenty opportunity to stagger
the order they are made in to take account of those who are ready before
others.

What would help us plan is knowing which colors are going to be
needed as the clay preparation is obviously the first thing (and done well ahead
of time).

As I have no guarantee people will be able to post here (or
that I can read PM's) I will deal with everyone by email for now. Within a week
I will touch base with everyone to see what stage everyone is at and when they
will be ready.

As promised, everyone in on this will have their chips
made as soon as everyone is ready, and of course before the mold comes
out.

If anyone else enquires then I will have to look on a case by case
basis as to whether they can be fitted in this time round or not. No promises
there.

Thanks for the support of the 10 customers who helped make this
happen

All 7 people in
the original thread plus three 'guests' all came good by the death.

Excuse the poor formatting of message above, I just copied and pasted from the other site.

Brilliant news and great to see you over here, David!

Fantastic news! I'm certain this makes the contributors to the repairs EXTRA happy, and those of us who have pondered designs for the FDL happy as well.

Our wallets, on the other hand, maybe not so much. :D

I have an older design I was poking with for the FDL a couple years back that I should pull off the external hard drive and start to poke at again. Not until I get my H-mold add-ons finished and shipped off though!

Thanks for the update, David!

Great news!!

So looks like about mid December to get going on these FDL orders now?

Im im hoping at least mid December for finalization. Don't get my payout until then which will be paying for my order.

Also great news and good to see you here David

There is probably about 4 weeks worth of production on the FDL orders. If we start it earlier then the production can be interspersed with other orders and the 4 weeks of FDL may occur during a 6 week timespan etc. Some people have art and $$ ready now so I can stagger the order of production without needing everyone to be ready on the same day.

I can send you final color determinations this weekend, and final artwork isn't far behind. I just need to take 1 final look at my color samples, and need to know if the 100 spot pattern would be a problem (unusual alignment) and if the Chocolate Chip 2 or Chocolate Chip 3 spot pattern is possible (and what the premium would be).

Glad the FDL is about to rock!

The Zombie Poker Classic - our biggest game of the year is tomorrow. It involves bacon-filet mignon and these (the first time dice chips were ever considered "good taste")

I don't think chocolate 2 works. The design tool represents the 'split insert' as being 1/2 inch wide. Its actually 9/16 (3TA316). You have 6 of those - total width 54/16 (3-1/2 inches). Circumference of chip is only 5 inches so the remaining pieces of body clay between each split would only be 1/4 wide at the outside, tapering to zero on the inside. Hence they would fall out in the mold.
Chocolate 3 could be done. Has to be made in 3 stages.....
Sort of 314+314DSA18 Its L9 (L5 + 90c)
We probably wouldn't want to be making too many though :)

On the alignment of the 100, you have to consider the back of the chip.
If we did one side at 10 & 4 oclock, then the back would be at 2 & 8 oclock.

T100: 10 & 4 = 2 & 8 = perfect!
CC2 = Dead. Good with that, wife hates it.
CC3: We're looking at 60 chips. Loving the idea of Level 9. Just a few more tweaks to finish the artwork; let me know when you want to start cranking these babies out.

I'm about to undergo reconstructive back surgery, so I won't be sitting in a chair for a month or 2. Therefore I'm in no super rush - they won't get any play time other than me wallowing around in them.

Awesome thing, David, that you got it fixed. And kudos for those, who helped fixing it by placing orders.
it is a helluva mold. Maybe I'll have some use for it next time around.

Ouch

As I said, I will email everyone around the end of the week to sort out finer details (probably Friday and/or Saturday). I've got 4 busy days this week and will be out quite a bit.

Start counting the Kroner :p

Any group buy happening on this mold? Haven't spend my $$$ in a while now, and I am ready :)

I'm just getting anxious to see them. There are a lot of memorable designs riding out on the rebirth of the FDL. My short chippy memory doesn't remember one batch with so many "instant classic" designs.

very true... The next couple months are going to be awesome in the pr0n section.

How many FDL sets total are coming out in the run?

12 including some still being sorted. The first few will ship this week, but the last could be another couple of months. Volume was double what was anticipated.
This will have a knock on effect on the Rounders project, which should not matter as some participants there needed more time to pay anyway. Will make update posts on that later.
Remember there are other non FDL orders in progress which we want to keep on schedule if possible also.

If you add the xmas giveaway and a casino sample run we had to do, that makes 14.

shipping notice this morning. Just an add on, so no truly original pr0n. Going under the tree - how's that for painful?

Form Maine to Spokane. Less than 200 mi away but, unfortunately, 8 days away.
