So, I love getting out to Vegas. I used to get out there a lot more when I was stationed up in Seattle, but now I'm back in Boston so I only go about once or twice a year. I always do so much when I'm out there besides just gambling and wanted to hear what everyone else likes to do. I'm sure there are some that gamble all day (if you're one of them, what are your favorite spots to play), but for the rest of you I want to know about everywhere else you like to go. Favorite shows, dinner spots, casinos, attractions, museums, whatever it may be.

It's been a while, but Flour & Barley by the wheel had some of the best garlic bread ever.

I also had probably one of the top 3 steaks of my life at Gallagher's in NYNY.

Carnegie Deli at the Mirage
This has been closed for a long time now unfortunately. Last time I stayed there a place called "Snacks" was at their old location and was surprisingly really good despite looking more or less like a cafeteria.

Fun topic, but not necessarily easy to answer.

As is already clear from the discussion of the Carnegie Deli, Las Vegas is always in flux and venues and offerings change often.

Moreover, there are a ton of options there, and depending on group makeup and preference the "best" option can change a lot. The swimming pool I would recommend to a 20 year old cousin and her friends is going to be a lot different from what I might recommend to a set of middle aged couples.

That said, based on making pretty much annual trips with our home poker game group (most recently in October of '21), here are some general thoughts:

Great Food Without Breaking the Bank - China Poblano at Cosmopolitan remains a great bargain for what you get (Jose Andres cuisine in the middle of a very hip casino great for people watching). You can add Red 8 at Circa downtown now as well for a similar kind of pan-Asian menu (without the tacos) at completely reasonable prices. Esther's Kitchen also delivers if you don't mind being completely away from gambling hot spots and visiting the arts district instead.

Poker Room - Resorts World now joins Aria as being another gorgeous, very well run room, with the possibility of spreading a mixed game for you.

Attraction - Bellagio fountains deliver. They just do. In addition, Omega Mart at Area 15 is very well done, and one of the rare attractions worth a repeat visit. We did Omega Mart in October last year. We are going back this fall. I would happily go back and spend time there.

Sportsbook - Westgate Superbook now has competition from the Circa sportsbook downtown. It is magnificent.

Table games - we like playing downtown. The availability of lower table limits, the ease of just walking from one venue to another, the no frills pure action feel of a place like El Cortez - downtown is great for playing craps

Cocktails - Vesper Bar at Cosmo has excellent people watching and top notch drinks. Frankie's Tiki Room has delicious drinks in a fabulous kitschy atmosphere. Downtown cocktail room is a nice change of pace to get one step off Fremont street but feel like 1,000.

This is a great answer. Knew it would be a tough one, genuinely interested in what other people like to do there, current or old.

Circa met up to the hype ? That’s one’s I’ve been excited to get to.
Also couldn’t agree more on loving downtown.

I love Gallagher’s, haven’t been to Flour and Barley yet though.

Circa is definitely the newest shiniest thing downtown.

We spent a lot of time at the sportsbook on NFL Sunday and loved it.

We also got a cabana at the pool on Friday afternoon and totally enjoyed that. The service was great and the food was fun fare for the setting (lobster corndogs were a hit, and the nachos, fruit plate also solid). We even had a good time playing blackjack at the pool (despite the 6:5 payout on blackjack there).

We did not hit Legacy Club or Barry's. Red 8 and Saginaw's delivered the goods. Cocktails at the bar with Vegas Vickie were very good.

Staff everywhere were great.

It is loud, and it is bro-centric. If you can handle that, totally worth the visit.
