New member around here, what is y’all’s favorite Paulson fantasy set, send pics if you already have one and how much you bought for.

I like them all but I still got a soft spot for my 1st Paulson set:

If I ever get the chance to pick up an excellent condition Avalon Club I probably would...

I just came from the chip database and was wondering what “fantasy” meant. I thought that they were just concepts and not produced, but clearly the sets were made. So what does “fantasy” mean exactly? And I thougt the Big Tops looked nice.

As far as i can tell, fantasy just means a set sold to the public, with a theme, that aren’t actual casino chips.
Personally I wouldn’t consider Big Tops or Tigers or any other NAGB sets to be fantasy sets. They’re similar, but they’re something different. Paulson didn’t sell these to the public.
The Paulson fantasy chips all used (or shared) a very limited number of base colors + spot patterns and colors. Which explains why some larger sets like casino de Mexico actually have duplicate chips with different denominations in the same set. And this is another reason why NAGB chips don’t fit into the Fantasy category.

Oooo… if you ever need someone to list in your will for this set *raises hand*

Gorgeous set. Bravo sir.

Did you buy when they came out or claw them out of the classifieds over the years?
Scratched, clawed, searched, fought and bled (money) to get to get to this point. Still need to 48 shaped $5s to finish it out. Someday…

Paulson fantasy = leaded (usually)
Do you know this to be true?
I wasn’t chipping when Paulson was cranking out these sets, so I don’t know the dates. But I’ve always assumed that many/most/a lot of the Paulson fantasy chips were produced post lead.
