Favorite Chip & Why (1 Viewer)

My favorite is more for sentimental reasons. Like many others, the movie Rounders got me even more into poker. Those racks full of black chips with the green edge spots did it for me. Those Teddy KGB $100s have been my favorite ever since.

I can’t just pick one from each denom:

- Truman’s House Paulson quarter (love the base)
- Mandalay Bay $1 (great spots)
- Caesar’s LV $2 (standout base, unusual edgespots)
- Caesar’s LV $5 (perfect $5)
- Truman’s House ASM $20 (Aria $100 knockoff)
- PNY Primary $25 (first Paulson I bought)

I don’t think I have a favorite $100 chip. Might be Foxwoods $100 with the MGM Foxwoods inlay on the opposite side.

Threw in the Aria $3 too because they’re amazing in stacks and racks.m

If you’re familiar with my ASM set, you can probably see how the Mandalay $1 influenced my quarter a bit and likewise the Caesar’s $5 and my $5.

I re watched Rounders after years and had a new found approximation for those and the other KGB chips!

Is there any one of these that stands apart?

Honestly, it's a toss-up between these two (both posted previously in different "favorite" threads):

MGM-bite-100-small.jpg

This beauty, primarily because of the story behind it an that there is a known number that never made it back to the MGM (that answer is 19). Las Vegas Review Journal article from the next day detaling the chaos of the evening:

https://web.archive.org/web/2010022...j_home/1997/Jun-29-Sun-1997/news/5632719.html

The incident plays a small part in Bringing Down the House about the MIT Blackjack team and one of the team members coming downstairs to take their shift to discover all the gaming at the MGM had been shut down as a result.

What is the highlight of my singles collection and what had been a Holy Grail chip for me for quite some time. A very rare chip from the casino that I decided to focus a lot of my collection habit around. The picture doesn't do the inlay the justice it deserves. The bear and the printing on the back has a dark semi-metallic gold color that is really nice and understated in it's simplicity. The hub mold also doesn't hurt!

Casino: Taj Mahal $100 - It is an iconic chip from an iconic casino where I started playing poker and have lots of memories. It has great bold color on a classic pattern with a very 90s hologram. Plus the appearances in Rounders.

Custom: Casa Mango $5 - The inlay and theme mean a lot to me and to my players and this chip is inspired by the look of mangos that have a history in our game.

Love both these chips and your history with them.

Not my favorite... but definitely up there! Just thought with all this Paris $25 talk out there that it would be worth sharing a pic of the BEST option.

Oh man how bad ass would a rack of these beauties be. This one was a gift from my brother @Rbonus012 who said they were like $75 each over a year ago. Lol and only a few of them out there known. So not really realistic as far as in quantity.

Beautiful green and pastel 3/8" spots in a IHC (not house mold).

I figured you for a green chip, just thought it would be a $1 :sneaky:

a humble, low-denom cereamic chip from casino in Bern, Switzerland

"Bären Poker Jackpot" because the bear (Bären = bears in german) it's the heraldic animal of Bern

A nice souvenir from a lucky night in swiss capital.

I think that one I gave you was in pretty good condition too iirc. Definitely wanted to hook you up with it. You do so much good for PCF.
