Chip love is new to me but I have found a real appreciation for chips and how they look, feel, and sound. Because I’m so new, I have not found my favorite chip yet but I’ve found it interesting to see all the stock casino sets and custom personal sets. I’ve noticed some are popular because they have been replicated by others & some that are multiple peoples avatars. This got me thinking, I’d love to see others favorite chip. Not a set but an individual chip. Id also like to hear what it is about that chip that really grabs you. Mold, inlay, edge spots, how they stack… let’s see em!

Tons of similar threads already.

Heavyweight scrowns now and forever, followed closely by shaped inlay, leaded Cali casino THCs. Really most leaded
Yeah I saw several that were similar but most were about sets or types. I wanted to narrow the scope to that one chip.

<<<<<<The blue Sunset one dollar chips. Retro blue is amazing. J5 did a fantastic job with the color matching. The text on the inlay says it all. Its the only set that I own that has true meaning behind it.

Depends on the context of what "favorite chip" means.

My favorite object-which-is-a-chip is my unpressed Bally's hundo.

My favorite individual chip design is the King International Aruba 3d14 black/red/yellow $100:

What do I love about it?
  • Leaded
  • THC
  • Shaped inlay
  • Black
  • Red and yellow spots
The spot geometry is one of my very favorites - I like three-fold symmetry, and I like the additional complexity of a doubled spot rather than a single color. The color scheme is bright and bold; red and yellow are primary colors and they stand out against the black background. I like black in general. Red and yellow have sentimental value within my family for reasons that aren't worth explaining. The inlay is simple, clean, distinctive, attractive. And the heavy THC clay chip feels amazing to hold, to shuffle, to put into play, to rake in a pot.

It's possible there's other chips that I might like more if I ever got them in my hands. But going just by visuals... I doubt it.

This is beautiful! I also love the double two tone spots! The contrast is fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

No question, my favorite chip is this beauty!

Why... well, less than a rack known in existence, 414 is my favorite spot pattern, I love fracs and green is my favorite color. I was happy owning a single in a sample set and when the opportunity came up to own a playable quantity I trully couldn't believe something that amazing was possible for a chipping piss ant like myself. Cost a small fortune but didn't matter had to have them!

Dreams and luck allowed me to build a small playable set with help from many on the forum. Now it looks like

Favorite chip is just one step, which turns into hunting your grail set, you may not know what it is, but in time you will figure that out also.

Tru dat.

I finally bought a barrel of the King 100s, just because I loved how they looked. Soon afterwards I started planning out the mixed set I'll need to build around them.

... that barrel was more expensive than I thought.
