Can any one please help me to identify this two deck of KEM jumbo index poker size I purchased from Amazon recently?

Got few concerns here, please look at the photos for me:

1. The decks come with a cupboard case, all the other one I searched online seem to be in a plastic hard case?

2. The cards seem to be ok, but I found that they bit stiff to shuffle? First time own a KEM card, also compared to the copag deck I just got, KEM cards are bit thicker, Copag seems to be really easy to shuffle?

3. What brothers me the most is the joker image on the card seems to be very bluring, the other images I saw online are all quite clear?

I got this from Amazon US, Springbok Puzzles is the seller? Paid about $35.00 US for the KEM cards.

Many thanks!!!

I’ve purchased legit Kems from Springbok and I’ve also received decks (not from Springbok) that have the blurry jokers. When I say legit, I mean that I own over 70 decks of KEMs and the Springbok ones were no different. I wouldn’t let those factors alone make you think they aren’t legit. I’ve never received newer decks in a cardboard box, but plenty of casino-used ones have come that way.

Hi, Clapton77, really appreciate your details answer. Sorry, still bit confused here, so do you recommend this should be legit ones? The cards I got were all warpped with new plastic cover, I belived the cards should be new, just come with the cardboard box. Thanks again.

Anything made after February of last year (looks like April 6, 2020 for this) could have been impacted by supply issues for plastics. Could include inks as well. I’m not saying that’s what happened in this case, I certainly don’t know for sure. But I have several setups in cardboard boxes, but as @clapton77 said those were for casino decks. It looks like you’ve got KEM’s there to me.

They look genuine...
Cardboard box is usually indication that they were produced for casino or club, where same cards in plastic box are targeted for private customers.
Stiffness might be the result of improper storage.

Outside of the cardboard box thing, they look like legit kem cards. My only concern is that they should not be stiff to shuffle at all. Every set of kem cards I have owned was butter out of the box to shuffle. Compared to copags, the Kems should not fell thicker and stiffer, it should be the other way around. Not sure what's going on but new Kem double arrow cards should not be stiff to shuffle. I hope they didn't change the formula of the plastic, that would be a shame. This is probably not the case but who knows, maybe its a covid supply chain thing.

I kinda like the cardboard box, gives it a more casino feel.

Thanks for every one's kind answers and valuable opinions. After few days playing with the KEM cards, have to say I am pretty happy about the cards, will definitely buy other sets later on. Cheers.

I feel certain I’ve seen blurry KEM jokers many times before. However, every deck of KEMs I’ve owned has been a casino deck, and I don’t think they come with jokers? So I can’t show you a blurry one and say it’s okay, but I don’t think it’s a concern.
