Fading on ultrasonic cleaning: dependent on unit or agents? (1 Viewer)

Hi all!
im thinking about investing in a ultrasonic cleaner, but in some of these threads about people’s chips becoming slightly faded afterwards. Does anyone know anymore about this? Is it the machine or the cleaning agent causing it? Most important of all, has anyone found any combinations that consistently cause zero fading?

I've always had fading. I use 40c / 30s / Red Devil TSP. They always look thirsty after. Some people have tried using Simple Green instead of a TSP cleaner and report no fading. I have yet to try this method.

Slight oiling after US helps.

It's the detergent. Most chips will need light oiling after.
