New card company. Their cards look sharp! They're also now the official cards of the WPT. www.fadedspade.com

Strange...seems they don't offer Bridge-sized cards...only the wider ones. Maybe the wide ones are better for TV?

I dm'd the account asking if they have bridge sized cards in their future so we'll see if they reply. I kinda like the look of these actually.

Yes, very strange ... Almost makes me think the marketers behind this aren't even aware of the correct size cards that all LV & AC poker rooms have historically used for poker ...Just went to the orient with their new fangeld art, &"ordered them up some "Poker" cards .... Also no mention of being the "official" cards of the WPT, just the "Preferred cards of the WPT" .. if that means anything ....wonder if you pay the WPT less $$ to use that endorsement , over an "official" endorsement ...

Yeah and it’s probably just marketing buzz words, but “casino grade” plastic doesn’t do it for me. Most cards I’ve played with in casinos are fine, but nothing I’d rush out to buy.
And $25 per setup plus $5 shipping? They can eat a dick. I’d love to check out new cards, but without a “hey we’re new to the market, here’s a nice discount” price, it isn’t going to happen.

I see most of the shows being broadcast on TV use poker size cards. I actually like the look of the poker size cards, but it is harder for dealers to handle them, so we only use bridge size.

.. You're going to cringe when their official casino weight clay composite matching chips appear ...

KEM's are priced at $25-$30 too and they are too expensive, IMO, especially when you can get Da Vinci cards for less than $15/set.

Yea, I've also noticed the last couple of years the Telivised final table switches from Bridge to a Poker sized, Jumbo index of a different brand used in the tournament ... Probably due to commercial endorsement $$ Deals ... IN many TV tourns such as Borgata events, you see the Germaco & Kem bridge decks used in the shots of the bigger "field" , before the final table ... Also most Asian/foreign casinos that never historically had poker , seemed to never knew the difference, & started w/ "Poker" size ....

And I think the wider cards just look better on TV, especially in overhead shots

Go back to paper. You'll use a different deck every session!

We use a new Da Vinci set for every game ;) ... just wish there were more than two or three bridge Jumbo varieties (y)

Looks the face cards were infiltrated by an Asian anime artist.

Not sure if it puts me in the mood for poker, or a viewing of Æon Flux.

That said - I do kind of love the font they used.

I didn't even see that the first time I looked. I do still like the look though.

I’d be curious if the appeal of these trends along age. They look to me like they are geared for the millennial (or younger) poker generation.

They don’t do anything for me but I’m old :)
I'm 34, so right on that millennial line. I'm curious to what you thought about the Copag Epocs?

They're pretty wild :)
I like the color combo of black, red and white on the back but a black face would tilt my players.

I'm 47 and prefer basic cards for poker. I'd probably have no problem playing other games with more modern cards.

My thought on the Epocs are that they would look better framed as art on the wall. They were hard to play with.

I think they look cool and would order a setup to check them out... if not for the price.

I saw in another thread that these are made by Modiano.

Has that been verified? Or is it jus speculation based on feel?

Looking to spread more hate and discontent? ;)

Honestly ... just trying to know the facts.

It seems like there were some choice words re:Faded Spade/Modiano in that "Pics of Recent Purchases" thread, but I haven't seen anything backing up those claims. I have some pre-orders in for the Faded Spade bridge/jumbo sets, and would really like to know if Modiano is indeed the maker.

I didn’t see anything mentioned in that pic thread about the FS cards being Modiano. I would have to go back through the FS threads and verify if anything was mentioned in those, but nothing sticks out that this was the case.

Flip the red cards over and you'll quickly find out
Also curious as I found out that another setup I had was also made by Modiano.

We were only razzing Tri about the #$%&anos , have no idea who produces the Faded Spades. I would bet it might say somewhere on the packaging though.

I just sent faded spade an email. I have the boxes, and am happy to investigate the innerds, if there are telltale markers, such as locations, etc...
