Bc nice chips cost money. And most casinos don’t have fracs. So they are all custom…
How about $8k invested in an all casino used quarter hot stamp set built for $50 buy ins and playing $.75/$1.50! Lol
How about over $8k invested in a set with Nickles and Dimes
All casino used fracs, ugly old chips... but then sharing them and getting compliments at the KC meet up from someone I trully look up to in this hobby
@Poker Zombie as he and his wife
@Mrs Poker Zombie used and taught on this set for two days and had ans absolute blast playing micro
I was playing slightly higher stakes the whole time, carried these chips half way across the country for others to enjoy. Not saying I am above Micro, I love it! But the table was packed full with a waiting list for part of that time. When others come over and thank you for the opportunity to play something that rare, to share something you spent countless hours and tons of money building, and then to get the "positive remarks" from your peers.... well as a chipper there is NO better felling.
But as
@Lil Tuna pointed out (not only my best chipping friend but has trully become my brother)... how about the total price listed in the OP invested in a single rack of fracs
Then add them to an over $10k (current market, but was NOT cheap to build) set that we play $.10/$.20
For the record I agree with
@upNdown "micro" stakes are less than $.25/$.50, sub $100 buy ins.
How about $1,500 invested in a set with cartoons and Penny denoms! (Not casino used but still a sizable investment)
I hope to get my family playing cash with these, they are very low income ans usually we only play $5 - $10 tournaments. With this we could play $.01/$.02 for $5 buy ins, or $.02/$.05 for $10 buy ins... I don't really care about the stakes, just want to get together and have fun. These chips are fun and inviting, they scream "let's just have fun and not care about the $$$!" and that's why I love them and added on twice to the set. I can also cover 2 tables of $.25/$.50 or even $1/$1 for our regular games.
But my favorite that makes me giggle for this thread was buying the Indiana Grand Secondary Tourney set. Over $5k invested in mostly dead mint chips... and then putting them in play for a 2am turbo
@Irish Meet up last month, a $20 buy in tourney!
Playing "Mint" chips cuts their value just like driving a new car off the dealers lot. But I don't buy chips to look at, who cares if it's a $20 game with ALL chip collectors, or a $200 game with a bunch of folks that don't care about chips?
I'm not entirely sure you understand this hobby
@xdukeluvax , glad to see you love chips and hope the chipping bug doesn't catch you like it has the rest of us.
Enjoy your chipping Journey!!
