Hi, I have several cases of un-opened, casino playing cards. Does anyone every use those for poker games, or only the KEM two set of Plastic Cards? I am not sure what to do with the black jack cards?
Any thoughts?

I use new, unopened paper casino decks for my games. I have plastic decks (Kem, Fournier, and the like) that I'll use as well but I like the old school aspect of the casino paper decks so those see as much time on my table as plastic. What kind of decks do you have? Paulson? Bee? Gemaco? From what casinos? What index are the decks? Standard? Jumbo? Can you post some pictures?

I thought I was the only one who liked paper decks. We never use them anymore but I loved opening a new decks for our tournaments.

Exactly!(y) I'm sure you and I are in the minority with our fondness for casino paper playing cards but yes, I love opening new decks from casinos and getting them into play. Our group (one table) are life long friends and coworkers so security isn't a concern for us. We'll rotate two decks (differing colours) during play and swap out for new decks as need be throughout the night, usually going through four to six decks per session. I'm always searching @Spinettis Gaming and eBay for new, unopened casino paper. My players will only use Jumbo index though so that makes the search a little bit more difficult. I won't use the standard issue Bee or Bicycle paper cards you can buy at any store...……...gotta be from a real casino!

The ones I have are all from a casino. I will get some pictures up today so you can see what I have. Total I have are 960 decks. So, I have a lot of them. Just not sure what style they are. I am hoping i can tell from the box? I may not know enough about them to fully understand what I have, but I am sure the pictures will give that away to experts like yourselves.

Here are a couple images of the cards I have. I do not know what "Style" they are, as it does not say on the box. All it tells me it they are "EIRTW Face Style" and I have no idea what that means. Hopefully that will help someone understand what they are? Let me know if you need more info, or for me to do some more research on my side. Sorry I dont have more to go on.

Nice! New unopened Kem decks from a casino are a very cool item. I think the brown box indicates they are bridge size which makes sense since most casino card rooms use that size for poker. As for the paper cards, I’m thinking they are made by Bee or Gemaco from what I can tell. Paulson 12 count bricks usually don’t have a viewing window on the case (the individual decks would) and there would be a stamp somewhere on the case indicating the face type/style of the cards with a top hat & cane logo. As for the particular face style of the blue decks pictured here, I’m not sure what “EIRTW” refers to. Perhaps someone here more knowlegable than I can dechipher that code for us. Awesome haul though, thanks for sharing the photos!

I did just look at a used pack that came from a live game, which is the same manufacturer, and it is US Playing Card Company, and the logo on the face of the box is "Aristocrat" I do have several hundred decks of GEMACO cards as well, but could not tell you the difference.

Yes, Aristocrat and Bee are maufactured by U.S. Playing Card Co. and many casinos have used both brands for their paper decks. Gemaco is a seperate company from U.S. Playing Card. Gemaco is also used in many casinos as well. Do all of your Aristocrat and Gemaco decks have blue backs or are there different colours? Do you know if they are regular index or jumbo index?

Hi Pete, The cards I have are as follows and are all in un-opened NEW Condition. Nothing has been cancelled.

KEM Poker Card Set (2 Pack) Maroon / Green in color: 22 sets
Black Jack (All Table Games) (US Playing Card Company) Aristocrat Club Special -- Color Maroon -- 144 Decks
Black Jack (All Table Games) (US Playing Card Company) Aristocrat Club Special -- Color Blue -- 384 Decks
Black Jack (All Table Games) (Gemaco)"Tech Art II Faces" Casino Quality -- Color Red -- 288 Decks
Black Jack (All Table Games) (Gemaco) "Tech Art II Faces" Casino Quality -- Color Teal -- 144 Decks

I have attached images of the actual decks, but did not open them. I am not sure if they are regular index or jumbo index. My initial thought, the casino is only going to use regular index, but i am not certain?

Several cases....hmm...

Total I have are 960 decks.

:eek::eek:

Those look like KEM (plastic) bridge standard index cards. Most casinos that I've played at use the same kind. They are nice...although many around here prefer a jumbo index (larger style font type).

Are you trying to sell them? Are all 960 decks (480 setups?) from the same casino and the same color? I'm sure you could offload some of them here if you are looking to sell.

Yes, all are from the same casino. There are some pictures above. I will move them over to the Classified as soon as I can get them set up. I am not sure what makes the most sense? The full cases, come with 12 unopened packs in a sealed brick. If everyone uses a two deck setup, it may make sense for me to go ahead and divide them up, but my preference would be to offer them at a Per Deck price, and allow members to choose what color / manufacturer they want. My choice may not be what everyone else wants? All of that information is above so you can see what I have.

I hope that helps?

Your best bet would be to post what you have in the classifieds on a per setup (2 decks) price. You could offer some sort of discount if people were to buy a large quantity.

Definitely this. Most everyone here is going to be interested in a setup (2 decks).

You can do some searching and see what comparable decks have gone for.

Also think about shipping. I don't know what the limit is on a MFRB from the USPS but I'm sure one of the experts around here would be able to share that information.
There is no limit on weight, but would be a limit on how many I could safely pack in the box and not damage anything. That should be the only restriction.

I did place them on the classified site, in a per setup sale, as recommended. My questions are many. When looking online through eBay, Spinetti's Gaming, as well as a couple other sites, and have seen these decks going for more than I posted them here. Here is one example of something similar, on eBay that i found this afternoon.

Do you feel the price I have them set at is too high? I have no problem adjusting the price, or do you not feel there is any interest in these since they are paper and not plastic, like the KEM decks I have?

On Spinetti's site the BJ cards range from $1.50 up to $4.00 for USED / CUT cards. I did see two casinos, one of them Stardust and they were $10 per deck.

I would like to sell these cards, but am not sure what the best method is?

There is little interest in paper cards, especially at the prices. Even the used or cut cards are typically basically new and fine for any application besides casino use.

While the decks you have listed here in the classified section aren't, in my opinion, "priced to sell" I don't think you've set an unreasonably high asking price. I think you hit the nail on the head though when suggesting that perhaps the majority of folks here just prefer plastic playing cards over paper. I do think that's absolutely the case. And the PCF members that do like paper decks (we are few and far between......lol) are already aware of Spinettis Gaming and their prices so that's not helping your cause. There are other variables too that can determine higher asking prices such as the cards being from more well known casinos and even the card back colours. Rarer, less common colours like aqua, purple, yellow, green, orange and black can command slightly higher prices. Ultimately, to unload some of your paper decks, I think you'd have to lower your asking price.

Hate bumping old threads, but if you haven't gotten rid of those paper cards & can bring the price way down (those are frequently on eBay and casino supply sites at $2 or $3 per deck), I'd take at least a couple dozen decks.

Any chance you'd be willing to open one of those "EIRTW Face Style" decks and take a picture or two so we can see the type of blackjack markings they're using?

I appreciate the advice. I am willing to do that, and will go in and bump them back to the top, and drop the price to $5 per set-up allowing for the same choices of decks.

I am traveling back from MCO to STL today, and will open one of each deck to show the community what the face cards look like.

I appreciate the suggestion and advice.
