Even when Vegas does reopen, poker will not. (1 Viewer)

Not sure about poker but The Venitian just announced its set to open its doors June 1

As much as I hate Sheldon Adelson, the free night at the Venetian, plus free parking, plus his paying all employees during the shutdown has the Venetian high up on my radar now. As an added bonus, the free night they give to first responders is the most expensive one in the series.

My plan is to start calling casinos after they open to see if their poker rooms are open. That will also play a factor in where I choose to stay.

Thanks for this, I hadn’t seen it anywhere else. We have flights for my birthday trip late July for 3 nights, was just watching for a good room deal.

Just booked this (fully refundable, if I find something else) - they made the highest priced night the free one, also no resort fee for that night, and the rest of the nights are at their friends/family discount rate!

Just booked this rate as well for our anniversary in October. I also booked a cabin in the smokeys that week as well. After all of this we need some time away from the kids and who knows what we will feel like doing (blowout or some quiet time) and if we want to fly or not. If we get to go, great, if not no harm in canceling. I'm not an Adelstein fan, but I appreciate them recognizing essential workers and doing this so I'm happy to give them my business for this trip only if we go out.

With the Venetian Las Vegas poker room opening June 3rd, i wonder if they’ll be 6 handed tables or full ring games? It doesn’t seem to specify

Craps makes a ton of money for the house. Poker not so much. The decision to reopen without poker was because it was not economical for the casino to pay a dealer with only 4 player's worth of rake.

I’ll admit, I love short handed play in the +/-6 person range but not from inside a phone booth of plexiglass.

Someone shared this photo from the Orleans on a non-gambling related Facebook page I’m on. 12:15am.

No shields in Vegas?

People can poo-poo 4 handed poker, but apparently there are fans.
A little before 3pm on a Thursday:

Clearly the pent-up demand is there. If the casinos are actually profitable with shorthanded tables, I suspect we will see other rooms open sooner rather than later.
