Sitting Out
Feel free to let me know if I posted this in the wrong section...I'm new to here.
Thought I would share my "Labeling" or ink stamping project of my pink super diamonds so far. I really liked the sample set of the El Rancho poker chips from apache pokerchips.com but I couldn't afford the $1750 for 500 chips for now....but eBay has huge sets of super diamonds chips for cheap.
I took images of the chips and converted to svg in the inkscape program and horizontal reversed the windmill and added another bird. I also swapped out the R in el Rancho for an S to make it el Sancho....lol so awesome....again to make this unique....I kept the font of the S similar to poker chips from TR King at the time...I like it alot... I then took the svg and converted to png and uploaded them to rubberstamps.net on their unmounted 1"x1" rubber stamps at 80% from their 100% size...each stamp was about $4.25...I circled them with a black pen using a quarter as a guide and then used scissors to cut the circle and glue in some spare suite poker chips....the inner circle is the same size as a quarter so I glued it using tacky glue from hobby lobby then used a glob of fun-tak from loctite to help me guide the stamp to the right place...it's not perfect but I really really like the results.
I'll be making my super diamond pinks from eBay as Stazon Jet Black for the 25 cents chips. When my gold stazon ink comes in I'll stamp blue super diamonds as $1...purple super diamonds as $5....red super diamonds as $25....grey super diamonds as $100 and orange super diamonds as $500....The chip catalog says the $500s are orange....I like the differing colors of the denominations...makes this set unique....will post more photos other than these at a later date..the ink stamps a little better in the smooth suited chips....so I might make a set of the more traditional color denominations like white for 1 red for 5 and so on...I wanted the pinks to be black as I was thining the gold will be too faint..
Its it perfect...no...do I find it enjoyable/exciting to have something unique?.....YES......the ink holds well and will wipe off easily with 91% isopropyl alcohol if you mess up stamping the first go around.....of course it would be better to gold hot stamp but I don't know where to go about doing that....
I've shared the images of my set up and I uploaded the png images I sent to rubberstamps.net if anyone would like to try this....Let me know what you think!
This is so fun!
