Speak to me about it... Pros, cons, better options at the same price point?

I'm looking at the standard 2.4/5 option, one unit, covering 1500 SF, with the option to add on later. $99.

My BIL was an IT specialist for Tex Inst and he recommenced Orbi by Netgear. It has worked flawlessly for me.

A good friend of mine has it and I strongly considered it before going in a different direction.

The main pro is coverage and speed. The mesh network works really well over a large area and is pretty seamless. Not sure how important that really is for 1500 SF. It’s also very easy to set up.

The main drawback I see is also something that Eero claims provides an advantage. Eero “optimizes” your home network and has some interesting tools for viewing how your home network is being managed. But Eero therefore has access to your home network, and I didn’t particularly like that idea for a few reasons. Plus, I think they charge for some of those services.

What was your 'problem' and how has Orbi solved it?
Primary problem was poor coverage in The parts of my house farthest from the router. The Orbi with one satellite solved the problem. Coverage is rock solid throughout my house now.

I also went with the Orbi package with two satellites. Very happy with the purchase.

Cell service was non-existent at my house, despite living in a densely populated metro area and AT&T claiming otherwise. Router has to be in the front corner of my main level and now I get rock solid WiFi throughout the house and entire backyard.

I also switched to xfinity mobile cause AT&T are idiots.
