SIAP. I searched and didn’t see a similar topic.

Does it piss anyone else off the way some of these sellers mislabel, misname and mislead people on eBay.

When I search and see some of these listings for low quality cheap chips being hawked as “casino quality” or “real casino” or “real clay” when they obviously aren’t any of these things it just ticks me off.

Hate seeing people new to chips get taken advanrage of by unscrupulous sellers.

I know it’s buyer beware but still.

Haha still only been here a year but it has been spoke of many times! Infact that's how the whole @hammer1271 thing started... he was selling cheap chips he bought off a member as "casino quality" and extremely misleading. We all started sending offers starting with what he paid and the next person offered $1 and so on. He caught on and figured out that we were all on a forum and found us here. At least we got scuba donkey chips out of the whole thing... but yes, we even started an eBay police force... where we mess with the sellers and ask rhetorical questions about the casino quality, and act like we are new to chipping... basically trolling 2.0, have some fun but also look out for other chippers!

How often do you see the posts of 399 chips and 1 paulson... just so when you serch paulson that crap comes up! Its sick!! Slimy people always trying to make a dollar off others in the same hobby!

Also many times people will sell 10 cent slugged chips and claim they are from the casino and can be cashed in for face value... disgusting human beings trying to get over on others... makes you sick!

Nothing wrong with your rant it is valid, sad, and if you see something grossly misrepresented turn it into eBay and help your fellow chippers!

I’m first in line to give misleading sellers a swift kick but also recognize that many who include “clay” or “casino” in their cheapo chip sales aren’t trying to swindle anyone. Outside of our group of nerds 99% of the population has no idea that there’s a difference and many discount chip manufacturers are allowed to call their injection mold chips “clay” or “casino quality/weight/chips” without recourse so though incorrect it’s reinforced over and over again.

Always happy to celebrate Festivus early and have an Airing or Grievances as long as we couple it with a strong showing of Feats of Strength.

Those mischaracterizations aren't limited to eBay. If you took many commercial ads at face value, you'd think that casino chips weigh 11.5 grams, the "official casino weight." Whatever works.

I know. Just pisses me off. But I guess if the buyer is happy with his “official casino weight” “clay” chips I shouldn’t let it bother me.

At least we know the difference but they they still make us look at their crap by putting Paulson or chipco or some other tag in their listing so it will show up in my search.

Here’s a pic of me and my best friend in case you were wondering. LOL.

man, screw eBay, i am done with them. it doesn't matter how well i describe the chips, pictures, warning they are warped, vintage so sold "as-is", no returns etc. - the buyer can still just say they arrive damaged because they are warped, and i know eBay is going to side with the buyer anyway.

Just describe them as casino warped

Why does eBay product misrepresentation irritate you? A side effect: I've found some amazing chip deals precisely because their current owners have no idea what they've got or how to advertise them.

My favorite stems from the all of the misleading ads for "official casino weight". When someone comes to my house and I show them my Paulson set of chips (Crystal Parks) and someone picks up the chip and notes, that "I don't know, it's a little light...". I get aggravated and note that "The chips are real casino chips...real, like there's NOTHING MORE REAL THAN THESE!"

They just don't get it.

Back in the old days I scored some nice chips on the cheap by searching for paulsen chips . Had to look through Pat Paulsen campaign buttons too though
