I've acquired a bunch of E&C hot-stamps that I'll mill and label this summer. My question is about the absolute maximum diameter of the inlay area. This mold used to be offered with 7/8 max inlays. Will I be able to use my 1" diameter bottom cleaning router bit in a press? I think it will work but am not sure. I'll make a jig to ensure it is perfectly centered. All I need is a few hundredths over 1" and I'm good to go. Anybody know for sure?

I just checked my E&C chips, I think the circle between the center and elephants/crowns will cause an issue if you try to mill 1" because that's pretty much exactly what's left inside said circle... Even if you manage not to touch the circle, your label will be so close it might not look very nice.

I've got a sample set that had 1 1/16 inlays on it that went right to the inner circle. If that helps at all

Standard 7/8 looks pretty nice if you can do that :)

My mistake. It looks like they creep over the inner circle only just.

Check CT and search Scratch House for more pics.

I think it is enough space. That chip is a really good sample to view considering the label design. THX Paul
