Do these chips appear to have been canceled? Or are the labels just worn?

I just purchased 400 of these chips and was just wondering.......do not have them in hand yet.

Looks like a cancellation overstamp. A similar cancellation was done to the St. Jo Frontier Casino chips

The thing that has me thinking is that i never knew of a casino that used e&c mold chips

I recall reading that Marion & Co, owner of the E&C, used it for casinos in Caribbean / overseas, & that they would not sell / let BURT-ASM sell blank non-hotstamp/inlayed E&C s for that reason .. My order of some blank blurples from the CPC 1st run last year may be the 1st consumer blanks offered ...
I'm sure someone here will post a pic of some actual casino E&C's ..

Definitely an over-stamp. I'm curious to see if you are able to determine the casino name when you get them

Those look to be hotstamps underneath, tho. The St. Joe's could at least be cleaned to reveal the inlay.
