Dunes $25,000 chips (1 Viewer)

so if he left Dunes with 2,000,000 in chips one night, that would be 25k x 80

I was reading a book tonight, Joe’s Dash, which is a biography of a Vegas casino head of security. In the book it mentions that the Dunes $25,000 chips were made specifically for Akko Kashiwagi.

His Wikipedia page is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akio_Kashiwagi

Makes for an interesting story.

I'm just curious. Is the time right? When was the 25,000 chip activated? This Japanese should be a gambler around the 90s.

What’s fascinated me about this chip is that it’s giant, right? Like 50mm? But it’s a house mold. So they commishioned a new mold just for this single chip which they only produced a few racks of?
Doesn’t seem like an economical venture. But if the mold only cost as much as a single chip was worth, it doesn’t seem so crazy either?
But it raises the question in terms of chips per mold, is this one the lowest ratio of all time?

where's a photo of it??
I don’t own one, but here’s Spinettis photo. But I think @RivieraDanny has one on eBay for $330 right now.

Edit - Spinettis says this is a 46mm chip. I’ve never heard of a chip that size, but I suppose if it’s a custom house mold, anything is possible.
What do you say guys, is it 46mm?
