I'm looking forward to relabel some hotstamped Paulson THC chips. I already ordered some labels samples from Gear, but will probably end up going with the laminated labels for durability.

I'm planning to mill the chips to remove the hotstamps and get enough reccess depth to accept the laminated labels.

Before going further, I'd like to know if the milling/labeling affects the way chips handles ? Will they feel lighter because of the milling ? Will they sounds different because of the labels ?

Thanks!

yes.

eh, maybe. depends on your sensitivity, labels used, and laminate used. not a gross difference to my tastes though. YMMV.

as long as the label fits into the recess and doesnt protrude, no.

Ask @Gear all your questions. He will be happy to do so.

In my experience using Gear's services, I have never been disappointed and is always just the complete opposite. I am always in amazement of his work.

I have never had chips milled but I am having some done right now. The depth of the milling should not alter the sound that much, if at all. I also doubt it would effect weight much either.

If you have never milled chips before and or know how to get the same consistent depth each time I would recommend just sending the chips to Gear. He has the professional equipment and also has some videos here showing how it done.

If you are confident in your work then buy the labels and apply them yourself.

Good luck with your project. :)

All stacks are 9 chips; 10 won't fit on my scale.

These were milled 0.015-0.020" deep on each side, and I like the resulting look. If milled closer to 0.008-0.010" deep, you would get a more authentic "inlay look" and recover 1/3 to 1/2+ of the weight loss.

I can ID a relabled barrel vs an original barrel blind. Harder to tell with just a few chips in hand.

.33 grams of hookerjuice, on 9 chips.

Time to order some hand sanitizer before going back to the casino.
