I have a tournament set with the following breakdown:
T25 - 240
T100 - 240
T500 - 80
T1000 - 300
T5000 - 40
I know most people advocate more chips, but it led me to wonder if I really need all of those T1000 chips. I'm thinking of peeling off a rack.
Realistically I'm never going to be hosting more than a 1-table game. I'm actually considering splitting the set in half, as the T5000 gives me enough flexibility to add rebuys for 1 table.
So I'd be looking at what is essentially 2 of the following sets:
T25 - 120 (3k total)
T100 - 120 (12k total)
T500 - 40 (20k total)
T1000 - 100 (100k total)
T5000 - 20 (100k total)
Total bank of T235k per set, x2 sets
That still allows for 12-12-3-7 or 8-8-4-7 for a 10k starting stack. I can either sell off the 2nd set with the same breakdown or keep it if I want to dream of a 2nd table.
So I'm looking for opinions on whether or not this breakdown is acceptable in a 400-chip single table tournament set. Does having an additional 50 T1000 chips really make the set that much better, or would it be perfectly fine without them?
I don't want to make it harder on myself if I decide to sell off the 2nd single-table set without the additional 50 T1000 chips.
Any advice is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks!
