Playing 5 handed cash game. .25/.50.
Dealers choice. We all bought in for 40 bucks. So far 1 $40.00 rebuy and 1 $60.00 rebuy. Hero is the dealer and chooses 7 card stud, and asks how it's dealt. I have been playing poker for 2 years very casual, Mainly holdem. The other four at the table play a lot and are in poker leagues. Hero makes it $1.00 after the first 3 cards, everyone calls. 4th card gets checked around to hero who raises $2.00. Everyone calls. 5th card checked to hero who raises $6.00 folded around to villain who calls. At this point hero's hand shows :8h::kc::jh:

Villains showing :3c::4s::6c:

Hero's 6th card is :6h:

Villains card is :4c:

Villain raises $10. hero, making his flush calls.

Last card face down, villain raises $60.00
Hero has $44.00 left. Should he make the call?

Likely would get more replies as a strategy post.

Without knowing Hero's down cards, no one can say. How good is the flush?

Villain is check/calling till six street. Assuming he is an ABC player, his hand was made by the :4c:. It is possible that villain held two pair or a set prior to 6th street, but you would wonder why he didn't ever bet or raise, just check/call. It would be handy to know how he plays his hold'em hands, made hands and drawing hands.

Villain likely can beat a jack high flush. I read hero as holding :kh: plus some other heart as his down card (only since we got told Hero has a flush on 6th) If Hero has the :ah: and :kh: I would call.

I would like to have seen the rest of the face up cards to determine the villain's possibility of a flush, but in general I would assume that there will not be two flushes dealt in a 7 stud game. Regardless of the outcome I feel a call is the right move here.

I was hoping for a big raise from him.
When he raised the 60 on the last card, I knew it was mine. I called. He said, you see I have a pair there. I replied you see I have 3 hearts showing .

He flips his cards over showing a full house.

I flip mine showing :th::qh::9h:

For a straight flush.:sneaky:

He didn't see that at all. He was sure he had the winning hand. But not as sure as me. ;-)

To answer the question in the OP... yes you should make the call when you have a straight flush.

When I hit my nine on the last card. There was no doubt I was calling. He was showing a possible straight flush as well. But his could only go up to the 8 and mine was Q high. And a full house definitely didn't scare me.

If he showed KQJT of clubs I sure hope you're still calling
