What do you think of Cromwell casino chips?

Anyone know who makes these? Does the manufacturer sell to the public?

The fingerprint texture is pretty cool. Wider at one side they more dense at the other. They are not flat though, you can see just to the right of the 5 some horizontal wear marks in addition to the fingerprint.

Hate them. Left after playing there for 5-10 minutes because I couldn't stand the feel of them.

Don't know who sells them, but I know that style is available to the public because a couple of the guys st th CCA convention used that style of chip for their personal chip this year (hated those, too).

Manufactured by ICON Poker. They have several consumer resellers, including Kardwell, Spinetti's, and even CPC. The 13g injection-molded metal-slugged plastic consumer versions run about 65-75c each.

Delaware Park Casino uses Icon chips. I personally do not like them.

I thought those pliers looked familiar. RIP Barry

Haven't handled the Hybrids but not a fan of their other chips. They are super slippery/slick and the Hard Rock tournament chips I've handled are non-uniform in size/diameter.

I've never handled them, but they look like a 12 cent chip to me. I bet they have some advantages over 12 cent chips. But why would you want mid-level chips that look like cheapo chips?

IMO worst chip ever. Absolutely horrible in every way.

They spent $185 million dollars to renovate the Cromwell from Bill's Gambling Saloon (I love the old chips and they use to have a hotdog cart with $1.50 for a beer and a dog). Anyways they spent $185 mill for this luxury makeover and all they could come up with was these slippery plastic chips from Icon? Besides Drai's nightclub (which has been surprisingly popular for a long time), their casino is dark and empty when I was there last week. In the back sits rows of unplugged slot machines...I guess they are getting desperate and want to make some more changes before it goes under. Compared to Flamingo and Harrah's which was packed with gamblers on the same night, I doubt The Cromwell will last much longer. Well, I hope they change hands so they can redo those fugly chips.

And it's a damn shame that it's gone too! Loved that cart! Haha

Yeah that whole section of the strip which was a great place for low rollers to get their feet wet or just to get drunk and splash around and have fun at the tables is mostly gone. Bills Gamblin Hall, O'Sheas, Imperial Palace all gone for poker. Not not much links Bally's to the other poker rooms on the strip and it is dying a slow death, Planet Hollywood and Harrah's probably soon to follow. The low rollers/new gamblers all seem to have gravitated to the Flamingo which is great for that room. But a great poker day used to be had by starting at Harrah's in the morning and working your way down the strip Harrahs->IP->Flamingo->OSheas->Bills->Ballys, racking up the Total Rewards comps the entire way.

Spent a few years of my life working in that building when it was the Barbary Coast, never made it out there when it was Bills and haven't seen the new place. Last time I was in town was between Bills and Cromwell while the building was gutted.

I'm pretty sure these are ICON. Either way, they feel too rubbery.
