It's impossible for both button and big blind to advance as normal when the dealer is the one who gets eliminated 3-ways. How do you folks handle this in your home tourneys?

The setup:

Player A - Dealer
Player B - SB
Player C - BB

Player A - eliminated

Option 1:
Player B: D/SB
Player C: BB

Option 2:
Player B: BB
Player C: D/SB

The big blind always advances to the next player -- yes, always -- regardless of anything else (number of remaining players, previous button location, who got knocked out, etc.).

The big blind drives the show, the button just follows along in the appropriate location.

Thanks, folks. Pretty clear majority here.

A home tourney I was at a week back did things the other way...someone was BB two hands in a row. I said “hey are you sure it works like that?” And they said “yep that’s how we do it”. I was wondering if it’s just a preference thing or if they are weird... this poll pretty conclusively shows they are weird.

Appreciated.
