Cut card? (1 Viewer)

Try the hemp cut cards. Did you know the founding fathers used hemp for all sorts of things? Hemp makes great paper, rope, and even playing cards. I don't use the playing cards, but the cut cards work great. Naturally they're difficult to get a hold of - you know, what with "the man" and such. I get them at the local shop, though, so not sure if there's is an online vendor.

Alternatively, I would suggest just making sure you hold your fingers real tight together on the underside of the deck. Works pretty well.

It depends what your dealer prefers. One of mine prefers metal or more durable plastic. The other prefers cheap plastic to bend up while action is pending.

I keep them in a cigar box.

I'm not sure who this man is that you're talking about. Do you have any contact information?

That's a good video, but why do I get the idea you're trolling me? Also, do you color match your cut card to your deck? Like a blue cut card with a blue deck, or do you prefer yellow?

Ok that's cool but how do you shorten the link to make it not have the whole url?

I have no idea at this point if you're actually asking or if I'm about to go three layers deep posting a LMGTFY link on how to shorten a LMGTFY link on how to create a LMGTFY link.

On the very small chance you're actually asking, there's a button right under the main box that says "shorten".

I tried googling cover card. Even tried poker cover card. Mental Nomad is wrong. It's a cut card.

I match the cut card to the OTHER deck in play. For example, if there's a red deck and a blue deck, the red card will go under the blue deck and the blue will go under the red. It makes it a little easier to notice if the cut card is being shuffled into the deck, IMO.

I try to use cut cards that will stand out against the color of the felt so they don't get "lost" on the table

Then you have those people that always seem to collect the cut card. Whenever you can't find the other one it's always in front of them. Jerks.

I picked up a bunch when I was in Vegas at either Spinettis or Gamblers General Store, can't remember which. I think they were like 20 for a buck, so I got a bunch in both sizes. The colors are meaningless but I preferred something that was bright so it would stand out when it's laying around on the table. Poker cards are one color and bridge cards are another so I can quickly grab some based on the deck we're playing with.

For the amount of money we've got invested in chips, carriers, cards, and tables there's no reason to ever not have enough proper cut cards on hand for all the tables you think you might run at two decks each plus more to allow for loss, damage, Joe Bob picking his teeth with one, etc. In a pinch I've done what @courage recommended but I wouldn't do it as a long term thing, again, given what I've invested in the other equipment. I've started carrying a handful to games when it's not my turn to host; I'd bet that 25% of the time there's some reason for proper cut cards not being available. I just make sure to get them back at the end of the night.

I just bought 50 bridge size cut cards on eBay for $15 and free shipping.

You make me sad.

With "card protectors" being called "card covers" more and more, and now people buying custom credit card covers, it's getting worse than ever.
