Custom sets - GOAT - my pics (2 Viewers)

Oh goodness, this has been my favorite CPC set ever since I laid eyes on it. <chef’s kiss>

Entry #8 Black Cat Club CPC MD-50 Cash Set - @Toby

This set was a big hit when it surfaced about 5 years ago. The J5 design was different from the FDL tourney set. It pays tribute to a couple of well loved casino chips. the 500 is spectacular I think the first chip that was made in this style. Others have followed. Perfect inlay, great mold, colors and spots. Toby should consider letting this go to a vote. There are special Halloween chips out there too. I’ll find a few pics. I should also add that I bought this one. I added on so it could be split in half. You are looking at half the chips.

Entry #9 - Clermont Lounge -BCC/ASM no mold/MGK- jbutler

I love these chips. I haven’t had the chance to get to the Clermont Lounge in Atlanta. I think the old school inlay no mold California cash set is stellar. I like the stamps (monkeydog) and those TRK colors OMG! I’d love to get a shot at playing with these next time a SOP is organized.

Only thing I like about them is their profile view in stacks. Don’t care for how they handle, the mold, the pics, the giant inlays...the chips aren’t for me.
I tried to like everything about them...until I bought a set. I sold because they were slippery as all hell.

Entry #10 - Aurora Club - @AK Chip -CPC A Mold cash

This set has a unique color matched Aurora sky that grabbed my attention right from the start. I think these inlays are stellar. Pat uses a straight forward progression as well. Hopefully I’ll get to play these some day as I was a hostage during the Alaska meet.

I was fortunate enough to be able to play with these and I love them!

Entry #11 - Old Orchard - ontheuptick - ASM Cash & Tourney

Despite the hourglass mold this set has a stellar inlay and great color/spot selection. These remind me of the old railroad box cars from a time gone forever. Wish I had better pics of the individual chips

Maybe the greatest inlay of all time? And I don't even like cats.

It’s in my top ten for sure, greatest inlay has to be Silver Dust, the level of complexity is amazing.
Those are great inlays too. I love the old-time look and design of those inlays, definitely on my list of favorites as well.

Regarding the black cat, there is something about those yellow eyes popping out of nowhere, combined with the font, just makes me feel small knowing I could never in a million years come up with such a "simple", yet so elegant design. It really is perfect in my book.

Yup J5 did a great job on them for sure.

Since my time on the PCF HOF committee is finished, it’s time to resurrect my personal HOF. Perfect spot choices and colors, solid theme that is personal. Inlay ticks all the boxes, clean, red Denom, yep. I also like the 1 is same as my EOL 1! The limit set has secondaries that can play together in a huge game. Very well done. My prediction, this will go to a PCF vote in first year of eligibility.

Thanks Mike! This started out as a limit set. Then I realized how stupid it would be to only design a limit set and not fill out the rest of the denoms lol.

Entry #13 - Story Hill CPC Circle Square Custom Cash - @MarquetteMonkey

Here is another one percolating during the HOF cooling period IMO. I’ve always tried to make a solid set with shaped inlays. In the end they never worked with my designs and Johnny talked me out of it. This is one of the very best sets ever made. Every chip is stellar. The theme, font, mold go well. Excellent use of the CPC palette. It was no surprise to learn Alan Crowell and Matt were on the advisory board.

I am completely flattered by this! Thank you! It’s been fun to follow along in this thread because it has introduced me to some sets I haven’t seen before - but I never expected for my set to get mentioned! For me, making this set was a great reminder that it takes a lot of time and patience and a theme that means something to you. I thought I was “done” about 15 different times with all my colors, spot selections, shaped inlays, and my inlay design. It took me close to a year from start to finish stepping away from time to time to come back with a fresh set of eyes and I am happy that I took the time to let it all play out.

Thanks again!

This is a great thread Mike...

It was a pleasure serving the HoF crew with you...your taste in chips is exquisite.
May 2023 will be Hamsterdam month ;)
