But with the original lineup in mind, this is what I would do if I didn't go with standards:

T25: Gray, because it's my least favorite.
T100: Orange, because its gray and black spots go well with the gray T25. It also has the same spots, so it make sense that the two lowest have "no progression"
T500: Yellow, because it's left after choosing the next two:
T1000: Pink, because it's the most beautiful chip in the line-up so it should be the mid and endgame workhorse. :)
T5000: Blurple, because it just screams "I'm the most valuable one!" :)

My T0.02

Here is your two cents @Mr Winberg and I have to say, I kinda like it!!

This is great feedback. If you still want to play!
V1- whale on top, Whaley Casino on ocean floor View attachment 437726
V2- big whale in background not very transparentView attachment 437728
V3- big whale in background, more transparentView attachment 437729
V4- big whale in background, more transparent, lighter font color View attachment 437730

They all look great to me! Personal preference would be V1 because the orca plays very nicely into the rays of water. I would not recommend V4 because the font would fade into the background. Having the pictures of crowns around the borders of the plaques (like those around the royals) would tie in nicely to your chips, unless you're looking to keep it very simple.

Not sure if its my OCD but I can't stand how the fin/tail touches the border of the plaque LOL

I would choose v4, but I would swap your T25 with your $25. Make the cash game chip a $20 yellow, and your T25 green.
That's a great idea! I would go with making the orange or grey chip the $20 instead so that there are no repeated edgespots in either sets.
I would do orange as cash $20, green as T25, grey as T100, blue as T500, yellow as T1k and pink as T5k

This makes my day, and I appreciate you pointing it out! I am so OCD when it comes to stuff like this, and fortunately you saw it before I said "it's all good!" Thanks for that, and I think this is probably one of the closer things I'm going to go with for now.

I messed around with the border a bit, and it just came out a bit silly looking.

Great choice! :) That looks good! I'm flattered I helped design your plaque I'm not a creative person at all LOL
Can't wait to see your full set!

No designs for borders?

Also, what’s the difference between V1 and V2?
This is because I wasn’t even thinking about having a 5k chip, until someone told me it’s better than a 10k chip! Also, with the plaque, I totally hear you, but my only draw back on V1 is that I think the little whale looks more childish than a large looming 25k whale ominously in the background! Although the light rays do look bad ass on the V1

I think he meant the choice of chips, and to answer @BNM the difference is just 5k and 10k for the highest denom

Can we see a gray / orange / blue / yellow / pink lineup?

I'm sorry this thread is getting derailed with my spontaneous questions, but what the hell, might as well use it for feedback. Here are some cut card examples I'm thinking of. I want to go with vertical, since the plaques are going to be horizontal!

Looking at your photo I have to say it is definitely not a good idea to have 2 different coloured chips with the exact same edgespot side by side. Not sure how it would look in a splash pot though.
Perhaps a switcharoo, use the gray as the cash game $100 (will hardly be used), the orange takes its place as the T25, and the black as T100. Then all spots are different and you actually get 1 standard color! :sneaky:

@dutch_whaley, do you have samples? If not, don't make any more decision until you do!

I have samples of all the Royals chips, and a completed 400-chip cash set, I just don't have any of the labels for the tournament set up yet. I really don't want to have to take any of the cash sets labels off though.

How many players are you expecting? I'm a bit worried that the T25k plaques won't see much play in a T25 base set. You need about 4-500k in play before you really can add T25k, and it won't really be "used" unless you have over 600k in play.

A solution is to use one of the chips as bounty chips (I really love bounties!). Then the rest of the line up is T25-T1000 and the plaques are T5k.

Or, since the latest trend is to ditch the T25, you can have a T100-T5k chip line-up and 25k plaques.

Yeah that’s a great point, and truly I just want to have a maneuverable plan in case it changes (as of now, I’m visualizing around 16-20 players). Part of the point of making this thread was to work out these types of details, and design.

Honestly I’m leaning more towards plaques being lower denominations and keeping it T25-T1000 with a 5k or 10k plaque. This way of doing things would free up a chip for bounties. Otherwise, I’d probably consider murdering a 43mm Paulson or something.

I completely changed some things, but I am super-super happy with this! It may be my final result!

I don't mean to make you change your mind or anything, but would the grey as the bounty chip be better since orange is brighter and more suited for the bright yellow/pink/blue?

Still a great set can't wait to see the final product :)

I prefer the gray bounty, just because I prefer the “pop” to be on the chips in play. Not on the extra chip.

I still think yellow, blue, orange, pink is a nice lineup, but the top lineup looks really good, too!

Can I tell you what’s annoying... When you have a solid lineup in your head, and you’re good with it, and then someone suggests something, and it looks better than what you had!!! Lol! I agree with both of you, I think the orange pop is better to be in play. I actually considered getting some 43mm Paulsons for bounties, but I saw someone’s thread about that and it sounds expensive and possibly hard to find.
