I ordered 200 custom plaques at US1.9/unit plus post.

I supplied the artwork and it was proofed and approved as per image supplied. The supplier sent me a video to show them just before they’re packed up and shipped, in the video as they flip over the stack I spotted an alignment issue with the “1000” and also spotted that the serial numbers on them had 0000 format. The approval had 000 format as I have no intention of producing thousands of them.

They have said
-All plaques are exactly the same, which means that they will all have the allignment issue
-the “1000” could not be printed as Rustic like the proof because of the ink being metallic.
-the allignment doesn’t affect its function, therefore not an issue that they would reprint for free
Then…
-accept the order and inspect when it arrives and they will reprint the defective ones.

I recieved the shipping notice and custom forms last night, so they’re on the way. These were the last items on a large order…It has been holding up delivery of tables.

What would you do here?

I don't think so. Things that aren't aligned would tilt the hell out of me. In addition to that, the fact that you got a solid print on the denomination instead of a rustic see-through really changes the look of the plaque. If they were perfectly aligned and the only issue was that the printing was solid, I think you would probably be okay with it.

The triple digits versus quadruple doesn't seem to be a real issue. In fact at one point in the future you might run more than a thousand of them.

Kind of feels like they should have mentioned that the print would not represent the proofs because of the ink. But the alignment one is really strange. It's not like the whole thing is off-centered on the plaque, it's only the denomination. That seems like a print error.

The 000 vs 0000 is meh... a very minor annoyance, I would say yes you're being too picky with that. The off center 1000 is a much larger issue and will probably tilt you every time you see it. However, that will only be an issue to you and maybe a rare other person that will say... "Hmmm. That's odd" and never think of it again.

Hell, you could even call it a security feature and claim it was done on purpose to protect the game.

Several thoughts:

This isn’t what you ordered/what was on the proof sheet. They got the digit format wrong. The alignment is definitely off.

I wouldn’t accept these. Any one of these things would annoy me. All three of them together are crazy.

Where did you get these made? This would not have happened with Matsui (6x as expensive), MSK (2-3x as expensive), and the plaques I saw from Tina (same-ish price) all looked great.

I haven’t been able to successfully order from Matsui, I was under the impression that they only dealt with Casinos

They were from Lange, other than the allignment I am happy with them
I have never heard of Lange so no clue what expectations should be, but my impression is this is a total botched job done by a non-player in the field.

I will definitely write in if they’re not the same as the sample run

If you doing it for a Card Room, I think Lange security will be better than Tina but Tina plaques product had been impressing for me

I recently placed and received an order with Tina because of how impressed I am from the PCA plaques lot that I had

Hmm. $1.90 per custom plaque is a steal! I mean I think those ones Tina makes were pretty cheap as well... but most decent plaques are in the $6 plus category.

These are just small ceramics made in China
20220723_103718.jpg

Even those were $5.93 each.

Pay for econo line... probably going to get econo line work... but if you are not happy then say it is unacceptable and see what they say. Often the response is "we sent proofs" these are custom printed and will not take them back. Especially when dealing with a certain "areas of the world" they don't operate under the same rules as elsewhere ... also if they like your design they will reprint them for anyone that wants them... not very big on anytime of Copyright rules! Just the way it is.

Unfortunately you may have to order again from a more reputable company.

Another vote for no payment.

Doesn’t match the proof- they didn’t hold up their end: alignment and ink. Something clearly happened to the file they used to make the proof- someone screwed up. They don't want to eat the costs. Tough.

The ink excuse is BS, or else they would have notified you earlier.

So it sounds like you've already paid and these misprinted plaques are en route?

And they will reprint at your expense once you receive the crappy ones?

Sounds like you don't really have an option here.

If you can get them to reprint at their cost then go for it. But that doesn't sound like an option.

I'd suggest you cut your losses, put this order behind you, and submit an order with MSK.

I would absolutely not be happy with those, the product simply doesn’t match the proof. But maybe they will do for now and you can get better ones later (another vote for MSK). If you want a refund or the plaques remade, your leverage probably depends on your method of payment.

There is a big discrepancy between the price of the chips and the plaques you ordered from Lange. The chips would be considered to be at the very high end and the plaques pretty much the rock bottom. In China it is generally understood that when you buy something at a low-low price, you get what you get. Still not a great look for Lange’s customer service, hopefully the chips prove to be top notch.

Yeah I mean, the plaques definitely struck me as being cheap, I’m not overly concerned with the money, I mean it sucks but not the end of the world.

I spoke with Tina regarding the same order, and I don’t know what she was smoking but this is the proof she sent me back, which I didn’t really understand, so I left it.

Also Tina had quoted $1.95/unit seems to have used the same or similar printer to make them by the look of the photos

I’ll be rejecting the defective ones, they’ve said they will reprint those but have now said that they’re not all affected by that issue.

The numbers I can overlook because I don’t really care about the superfluous 0.
The solid font is annoying but again, it is what it is.
The only real issue is the offset.
I’ll have to do an unboxing video what I get it all… they sent a photo of the truck. 10 crates lol

They look good!

As for the usage, The 1000’s are actually used as “behind plaques” basically act as auto Top up the min table stake per hand. They’re not exchanged every hand but if a hand gets big enough they come into play.

A player in this game ALWAYS starts the hand with as least min table stake. Regardless how many chips they have in front of them, if that makes sense
