Hello guys!

Just like in the thread title, I am looking to purchase 1k+ custom poker chips for luxurious home game in Poland, Europe. The players are used to high-quality poker chips from casinos (a bit oversized chips, solid weight, nice feel). We would also want to customize the chips with logo, possibly other details as well. I am not sure about clay vs ceramic as I found different opinions. In theory I found nice chips at the Apache website (43mm Royal chips) but they wrote they do not ship custom made chips to Europe. Basically, what I am looking for is the company which would ship to Poland, prepare chips in 2-3 weeks, and that our players would be impressed with the quality and the feel of the chips. Some nice plaques would be a nice addition as well.

I would be very thankful for recommendations!
Greg

Welcome to the forum.
"High-end", "luxurious" game and players "used to high-quality poker chips from casinos", if true, can only mean one thing: Clay.

Clay is offered nowadays only by the CPC company to the public, but it takes at least 3-4 months for a custom order to materialise.
They also offer off-the-shelf sets (Atlantic Club, American Eagle, Rounders) but not in 43mm diameter (only 39mm).

Key West chips, offered by the name-sake company are also CPC-made in 39mm diameter and off-the-shelf, without any wait time.

Both companies are most respectable vendors here.

They do have 44mm stock chips, but they only come in 2 denominations, neither of which are suitable for a home game. You could, however, buy a NAGB tourney set that's 43mm and relabel it, and it could theoretically come within 2-3 weeks and you could relabel it.

My suggestion is to either go with a high end ceramic such as @ABC Gifts and Awards and @SUN-FLY Poker Chips

Both companies are awesome and have great service.

If ceramics don't meet the threshold you can go CPC which will break the bank and take probably over 6 months to receive, if your mold selection is even in rotation.. You can always buy some nice mint Paulson chips and label over or do inlay replacement to customize them. My suggestion is to take a look at the litany of RHC chips that have hit the market recently and have a designer make you a custom inlay design. Then have our resident guru @Gear make you some nice labels to go over them.

You’d know better than me, but aren’t most Europeans who are accustomed to high end luxurious casino chips actually accustomed to plastic or ceramic?

I just realized that. In that case I'm not sure what Matsui turnaround times are, but ceramics could be achieved in that timeframe. Plaques too!

Deal breaker.

True, but this does NOT make them "luxurious":D

Quite probably, but our new friend seems to be asking for the "very best".
Again, he and his players could be perfectly happy with premium plastics or ceramics.
We revert to the old saying "get samples".

Welllll, he's asking for the very best, but he was about to buy china clay, so maybe he's not sure what he wants.

Clay is only the "very best" if that's your opinion. If you were more specific as to what casinos you went to and what kinds of chips you handled, it would be easier for us to help you.

Yeah, if he's looking at china clays, he may be oblivious to real clay chips (living in Europe). Chances are most of what he's seen is plastic or acrylic.

Custom ceramcs are the only thing that meets all of his requirements, including timeline -- provided he can generate the artwork quickly.

2-3 weeks? Yikes.

Don't spend money unwisely. High end players will know that it's worth the time to design and make it right the first time. Go CPC for custom clay.
Custom matsuis are better IMO in this case, as they probably consider those as the top of the line, but then again, they may try CPC and prefer it.

Hello guys,

thank you for all the answers! I have contacted Matsui, already got samples and they look amazing, so we will go with them.

GPI's pricing structure would seem to indicate that *they* consider their very best chips to be plastics.

To be fair, they are taking very many decisions into their price structure, likely the most important of which is to maximize profit in the long term. The high durability of premium plastics means less future turnover, so they price their profit on the front end. Clays damage much more easily with constant play and require faster turnover, so they price their profit on the back end. I don't know if they ever did the type of product testing where they polled the casino going public about their preference for chips from a variety of physical characteristics (and I doubt it). They are getting by due to their size and their history.

I am a great fan of plastics, ceramics, and clay. All chippers should have equal opportunity to appreciate and own all three. In diversity there is strength!

I have a set of 44mm CPC’s that’s set to be delivered in September. David’s words in late April were “It may be a little later than the late August I predicted but I doubt it would be much.”

The cutoff for this 44mm run (which only go into production once a year) has to be approaching quickly, if it hasn’t passed already. It’d be worth reaching out to David Spragg if you had any interest.

IMO, the 44mm CPC’s are as good as it gets, just be prepared to pay ~$4/chip, depending on how fancy your edge spots are.

I have an old tie from the 70s that I found at a thrift shop that has a label that reads “Genuine 100% luxury imported polyester.”
How could I pass that up?

Well everyone knows that the 70s were a bad time for US polyester farmers. Our polyester crops just weren’t producing the way they were. If you look close enough you’ll see that Watergate was really about subsidizing the polyester farmers.

Witam kolegę z Polski. Miałem zaproponować Abbiati albo Sun Fly ale Matsui to też niezły wybór. Gdybyś potrzebował dobrych kart chętnie pomogę. If consider Abbiatti I can provide contact info for agent.

Zgadzam się, ale problemem jest jego harmonogram od dwóch do trzech tygodni, aby otrzymać niestandardowe żetony do pokera. Nigdy nie byłem w Belize.

...I’m just sayin’.
