I’m looking to get a custom ceramic poker chip set for home games. Anyone have any they’ve done before? And recs on chipco vs brpro chips?

Just put an order in for some chipco custom samples. My very first time using photoshop (learned the basics in about a week and a half, definitely could use more work but was too excited to get these going). My gf just got me into blackjack, and I'm teaching her hold'em, so we wanted to get a little home game going. I've ordered bunches of samples from various vendors over the past month so looking forward to seeing how the chipco customs feel. Having collected hundreds of casino chips, I absolutely love how chipco's look, sound, and feel, so I'm super excited. I'd say also check out casinosupply.com. Their stock samples were virtually identical to brpro's basic customs and have a lower cost-per-chip (though higher moq). Definitely check out some other forums on here as that is where I drew a lot of my inspiration and info from. I'm probably heading over to one of those other threads now. I'd be happy to share any tips as far as creating them, if you have any specific questions, as well as post pics of the actual chips once they arrive.

That’s sick! I do love the few chipco I’ve handled. I think I like those and brpro the most. Would love to see the chips when they come in!

Did these awhile back for the cash games.. I got them through Crowshead Poker. They did a wonderful job but I don't really know what blanks he sources. Customer service was amazing. Artwork is mine.

I didn't know Chipco blanks are still available for custom chips. ??

Not sure if you have a set of chips by now, but this thread popped up near the top of the list on the ceramic chips discussions and so if you are still researching, hopefully this all helps.

I have a custom chipco set and a custom set on BR Pro blanks. Both are very nice.

If you can still get custom chipco (I'm not sure you can anymore) then I think they are a superior blank, but you will pay more. That isn't to say BR Pro blanks aren't good, they are very very good in my opinion.

Both blanks stack well, but I'd say the chipcos stack better - they grip each other so well and you can easily slide a whole barrel of twenty up to betting line with out any fear of the slipping. They also shuffle nice too.

The BR Pro blanks also stack well, absolutely no spinners and no one at my home games struggles to push big bets in with them (especially when I'm in the hand against them!!) - these blanks feel buttery smooth to shuffle, real quality.

I intentionally chose non aligned edges as I don't want to imitate a clay chip and I also like denominations on the rolling edge - all of this is personal preference, but for aligned edges you will need to pay more so its something to think about.

I'm not a good photographer, but see the image below. BR Pro blanks used for the cash set and chipco blanks used for the tournament set.

I can also say that I personally very much recommend BR Pro poker. Great chips and excellent customer service - this is coming from a UK based customer too. I paid more to have my chips made in the USA because that is where the best chips come from and BR Pro are the top tier for ceramics in my opinion. They have been so good to me on both my purchases. Kristil is super helpful.

Hope this info has helped you.

I love these! I love the pound symbol as well. I lived in Sheffield for 10 years and have fond memories living in the UK. I didn’t think about doing something British like that but now I’m reconsidering! Would make a good discussion point too

I had these made through BrPro a little over a year ago. I am very happy with them and a huge step up from what I had before.

I think these are like the exact perfect kind of design to go with BR Pro - something that’s not just mimicking clay chips with edge spots, and no need for edge alignment. I do think when you get into that territory, the prices get a little steep when compared to others where the alignment is included by default.

Thank you! That is exactly what I was going for. @timinater knocked these out of the park.

Are the Chipco blank’s rolling edge different than brpro’s standard blank? Are the edges rounded the same or sharper? I am not a fan of the glossy rolling edge. Also, how do the colors compare? Are chipcos more vibrant vs brpro’s standard blank? Thank you.
