Hi All
so my first shipment is being processed at Melbourne's customs, and should have them in-hand next week.

if anyone is keen for some decks, sing out.
I have a few members in mind who are very active when it comes to playing cards, so i will pass on some free decks if they want to cover shipping costs.

As this was my first custom card order, I will highlight some issues from this experience. Some of this will be super obvious, however, doesn't hurt to point out.
1. agent was very responsive when they knew they were getting $xxxx of business
2. process was easy with approving proofs
3. prompt replies.
4. I have a mate who imports from china, so I got my order sent to his container. My cost to get 22 boxes into Melbourne was $369AU.
5. I received 6 sample decks. Initial thoughts
a. tuck box was perfect. as per my design.
b. the feel was what we expected. matte on the back, smooth gloss on the front
c. thickness of .35mm was on point.
d. it was evident that based on their proof sheet, and how the decks were cut, that the last 2-3 rows of cards were slightly off centre.(12 - 15 cards per deck affected)
e. Their response was 'a 1mm tolerance is acceptable when printing'. i have never seen a deck of cards with off centre printing.
f. their reply was 'this is common knowledge in the printing industry'
g. lots of back and forth with no real resolution.

Cards have been used at our local game.
no one has noticed the 'off-centre'. cards have been well received so we hope to sell off 2000 decks locally. Home games are massive now with COVID and Crown casino going from 70 poker tables down to 14.

so if anyone still wants some with the abovementioned issues, sing out. I will do my best to get out as many decks as i can.

Glad you got through the process, that was a long road. I'd be interested in seeing the result.

@JMC9389 Want to share a shipment?
You know I'm always in for cards. Happy to have whatever you need shipped to me and put in your box

@xdan , send me a PM when you're able. Let's chat about your new cards and whatever other set ups you may have for sale :)

Hey all. I picked up the boxes today.
seems as though the centring isn’t as much as an issue on the main shipment. Apparently the initial samples they sent me were from the ‘error’ pile.
the centring on some cards isn’t perfect. But for a first order, I’m happy. Few lessons learnt for next time.

I really like the design. It's a bit like Faded Spade meet Gemaco.
Have you been making any tests on durability?
Love to get some samples if shipping to Europe would be an option.

@Dix should test them if he finally resurface...

For now I belive you should send a deck to @Hobbyphilic for testing, that would give your cards best marketing opportunity...

The white background on the red decks look thicker on the left, and thicker on the right on the blue decks to my eye, is this the case in person?

Nice looking cards! Glossy on the bottom, textured on top isn't my favorite, so they're not for me. But nice work.

It could be a bit of both. Some of the cards that were slightly off centre we’re affected on both sides, so what you’re seeing may be accurate. This is what I was trying to describe in the initial post.

The calipers were used plenty..
figured not much I can do now. It is what it is.
We’ve used the cards in about 8 games and not one person has noticed a thing.
No one will when playing. Only card degens such as yourself will notice. Kind of like all the chip nuts around here noticing chips and the punters giving zero fks.

100% accurate.
I’ll be sending some to you this week for your OCD assessment.

Very cool! I assume you, or someone getting a sample of these are familiar with the database that @Dix put together. What existing deck of cards do these come closest to regarding flexibility?

Flexibility wise.. good question
I’ll do some tests with the cards I have at home.
Might put together a video of them in action.
